Good morning everybody, we’ve got a bonafide summer day on tap here in Western Mass, featuring heat, humidity, and the potential for thunderstorms overnight.

The storm complex that spawned severe weather over the Great Lakes region yesterday is advancing east towards our area. Ahead of that system, the winds are out of the southwest, ushering in very warm and humid air, which will allow dew points to rise into the 60s, and air temps to rise into the upper 80s today.

It should be a partly to mostly sunny day today, but we could see some strong to severe thunderstorms after midnight tonight. These storms should be out of here by dawn tomorrow, so sleep could be interrupted, especially so to our north in central and northern New England, where convective potential will be a little bit higher.

Tomorrow, the same sticky and hot air mass will be firmly in place for another day, and temps could reach the low 90s in a few spots for the first time this warm season!

This will allow for another round of thunderstorms to develop later in the day, before a cold front drags through our area, and sweeps this soupy air mass out to sea. Thursday will be in the mid 80s for highs, too, but we will cool back down to around the upper 70s to 80 degrees through the weekend, with drier air.

Have a great day!
