[MILDER TEMPS ARRIVE TODAY] A COUPLE OF RAIN SHOWER ROUNDS TONIGHT AND TOMORROW NIGHT WILL DOT A VERY MILD PATTERN THIS WEEK… WE START TO COOL A BIT THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AND THEN I WILL BE MONITORING THE INTERACTION OF A GREAT LAKES UPPER LOW AND SURFACE SYSTEM RACING TOWARD THE VIRGINIA COASTLINE ON FRIDAY… FOR NOW, WE GET MIXED RAIN/SNOW SHOWERS, BUT IF THOSE TWO SYSTEMS COME TOGETHER… RIGHT NOW… OVER US…. THEN WE’LL HAVE MORE TO TALK ABOUT FOR FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY #BeatlesReference (6:55am Monday)

Good morning everybody, temps are currently in the 20s, and the snow showers last night that represented the leading edge of much milder weather surging into the region today have tracked off to the east and are exiting the coastline as I type this out.

We’ll have some light weather impacts this week into Friday, but no big deal at all, I will detail them below…

SUMMARY
–After some morning clouds, we should see some drying aloft, and watch a partly sunny day develop with more sun later in the afternoon
–Highs will reach the upper 40s to low 50s, and southerly winds will gust over 20mph at times as our milder air works into the region
–For tonight, clouds increase again as another frontal boundary approaches from the west
–Some scattered showers are expected tonight but should be done before dawn tomorrow morning
–Lows tonight will drop into the mid to upper 30s
–For Tuesday, there’ll be nothing stopping you from heading to the polls to vote, as we’ll have a very mild day with highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s with a partly sunny start and cloudier finish
–Tuesday night sees another system work northeast through the region
–This will have a little more moisture with it, but it’s still fairly light and we shouldn’t see much more than a quarter inch of rainfall overnight, with lows in the mid to upper 30s
–For Wednesday, any morning showers clear to the east, and we will see developing sunshine as higher pressures start to press eastward into WMass
–A westerly flow will develop behind a cold front, and highs will sit more in the 40s. Westerly winds will gust over 20mph at times. Lows will be near freezing.
–For Thursday, we’ll enjoy the pick of the week with high pressure building through the region, which will produce mostly sunny skies and highs in the 40s with lows near freezing
–By Friday, we will be watching to see how a northern stream system tracks, how it keeps or loses its strength, and how it will potentially interact with a southern stream system
–While it’s a low chance given the distance these storms currently look to have between them, this IS the type of setup where if the spacing between them tightens, the northern low could “capture” the southern low and draw it up the coast
–Enough cold air at the right time would be available, along with a Friday onset (night time is always cooler) that a snowstorm is possible
–Again, for now, southern stream is out to sea, and northern stream blows through with some mixed showers, but I will be keeping an eye on it and keeping you update this week!
