LIGHT ACCUMULATING SNOW ON THE WAY FOR ALL OF MONDAY MORNING, AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING… PLOWS MAY HAVE TO COME OUT FOR SOME FOLKS, AS 2-4″ LOOKS POSSIBLE… (5:50pm Sat)
Good evening everybody, I just wanted to check in quickly and update you through Tuesday.
For tonight, clear, calm and cold with lows in the teens.
For tomorrow, we’ve got a seasonable fair day with plenty of sunshine and highs in the low to mid 30s.
For Sunday night, clouds will build as a storm system slides west to east to our south later on Monday, keeping all of us except maybe parts of northeast CT (southern Windham/Tolland Counties) as snow.
Snow moves in by midnight, and extends all the way through the day light hours of Monday and into the night with periods of light snow.
While we are more likely to see 1-3″ of accumulation, a few spots may see 4″, so some plow operations may be necessary.
I will update more on this storm system tomorrow, as well as our mid-week snow to ice larger storm system.
Have a great evening, and having just been at a memorial for a great man who was a mentor in my life who passed away last month, please let those that you love know that you love them, and be kind whenever possible.
Thanks and have a great night, and again I will update with more details on our continued active pattern tomorrow morning and evening.

TERRESTRIAL:
HIGH AIR TEMPS: Highs should rise into the low 30s in the Berkshires/Taconics/Litchfields, western hilltowns, SVT/SWNH, and N. Worcester County, while we reach the mid 30s for the Pioneer Valley floor down into northern CT and in S. Worcester County.
LOW AIR TEMPS: Lows should drop into the teens region-wide
SKIES: Mostly sunny
WINDS: Lighter northwest breezes in the valley with gust to 20-25mph in the high terrain
NWS ALERTS: WIND ADVISORIES POSTED
CELESTIAL:
–OUR STAR ROSE AT: 6:45am this morning
–OUR STAR WILL SET AT: 5:24pm this evening
–OUR MOON WILL RISE AT: 1:57pm this afternoon
–OUR MOON WILL SET AT: 5:16am tomorrow morning
–MOON PHASE: Waxing Gibbous
SUMMARY:
–Mostly sunny skies will develop today as high pressure begins to move in from the northwest
–Northwest winds may gust over 20mph at times, especially over the high terrain
–For tonight, winds slacken and good radiational cooling will setup with lows in the teens under clear skies
–For Sunday, we will enjoy another sunny day as said high pressure continues to build and stengthen into the north-central U.S. and southern Canada
–Highs will reach the low 30s, with some upper 20s possible in SVT and the high terrain
–Lows will drop into the upper teens as clouds build, and light snow arrives either side of the midnight hour, with a diffuse area of low pressure moving in
–There will be no concern about precip type with this little system, but the question will be how far north will snow track
–For now, the best chance for a coating to 2″ is along and south of the MassPike in WMass, CMass and northern CT
–The system could track a bit further north, but it’s a light impact event
–Still, it should be snowing for at least some of us Monday morning, and for those that need to get to work despite the holiday, morning travel could be slippery in some spots
–Any light snow wanes and ends by early to mid afternoon the way it looks now, with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s and lows in the teens as skies clear
–Tuesday looks sweet but cold, with highs in the mid 20s to low 30s under mostly sunny skies, and lows in the teens once again
–This antecedent cold air sets us up for another wintry event Wednesday into Thursday morning
–Yet another flat tracking storm system will eject out of the southwest U.S. and move right across the country toward New England
–Again, we will start off with a period of accumulating snow, and likely a change to sleet and freezing rain, especially the further south you go.
–There’s still time for refinement on impacts and precip types, but it is possible that folks north of Rt. 2 remain all snow, and several inches would be possible with this system
–Highs Wednesday would be in the low 30s, and snow would start in the early afternoon
I will have more info for you as we get closer, as the plows may have to come out once again for the mid-week storm.
Have a great day!
