A SEASONABLE WEEKEND WILL BE FOLLOWED BY AN UNSEASONABLY MILD FIRST HALF OF NEXT WEEK BEFORE COLD AIR MOVES BACK IN TIME FOR A STORM SYSTEM THAT COULD PRODUCE AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF ICING OVER PORTIONS OF WMASS AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES… COLDER NEXT WEEKEND AS WELL… (6:55am Sat)
Good morning everybody, we’ve got a pleasant enough weekend coming up as the Arctic lobe of Hoth swings east and north out of our region and up into the higher latitudes. Goodbye, whatever the media named you this time around in order to gain the attention of your eyeballs and clicks, we hardly knew ye!
SUMMARY
–A cold front will drop south out of northern New England today, and sort of wash out over the region overnight.
–This could focus a snow shower or two over the region, especially north of the Rt. 2 corridor. Otherwise, it”ll be dry
–We’ll see an uptick in clouds later today because of it, with highs ranging from the mid 20s to low 30, and lows in the upper teens
–For Sunday, clouds should clear somewhat and reveal a partly to mostly sunny day with highs in the mid to upper 30s, and lows in the mid 20s
–Monday and Tuesday will be quite mild, and we’ll see some snow melting for sure into mid week
–Highs will range from the mid 40s to low 50s from the high terrain to low
–Lows should be in the 30s
–Wednesday looks to be a transition day as a cold front moves through and drops temps back into the 30s, just as a storm approaches from the southwest
–High pressure may set up to our northeast, creating cold air damming, and a secondary low may form near the coast and produce a mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain here in southern New England
–Inclement weather would likely last Thursday through Friday
–Next weekend looks cold er as well, so stay tuned, winter isn’t over…
Have a great day!
