FREEZING RAIN THIS MORNING WILL CREATE SLIPPERY TRAVEL CONDITIONS FOR SOME…
(4:00AM SATURDAY)
Good morning everybody, in looking at temps early this Saturday morning, we’ve got a number of upper 20s readings, as well as low 30s.
As you can see in the attached radar still, light to moderate rain is moving northeast into the region and will fall on these sub-freezing surfaces causing ice glazes and hazardous travel conditions for some, especially in the Berkshires, western hilltowns, and SVT.
Winter Weather Advisories continue this morning, so please give yourself extra time if you’re waking up to rainfall within a freezing or sub-freezing surface temperature regime. Freezing rain could last until between 9am-11am, by which time temps should rise enough to stop causing freezing on contact with ground and road surfaces.
Please post any and all icing reports below, as I would love to get some ground truth for folks who have to travel this morning… Thank you…
