YOUR WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–Please post your sunrise pics below!
–A chilly start with temps in the low to mid 20s
–We’ve got high pressure sprawling up and down the eastern seaboard from South Carolina to Maine
–This will provide us with one more sunny day with highs in the mid 40s
–Clouds will increase tonight as a warm front approaches the region
–Lows will dip into the upper 20s and then hold steady, with a bit of patchy fog possible late
–By early Friday morning, a spot snow or rain shower may move through as our warm front arrives
–It’ll be mostly cloudy tomorrow with highs in the mid to upper 40s and a few sunny breaks possible
–Southerly wind may gust up to 15mph or so
–Lows Friday night will be milder, bottoming out in the low to mid 30s as clouds persist
–By Saturday, we’ll be in the mild sector between a Canadian storm’s warm and cold fronts (warm front east of us, cold front west of us, storm north of us)
–This will allow temps to spike into the low to mid 50s, with a low chance of some folks approaching 60º along/south of the Pike
–As the cold front approaches at night, more scattered showers will develop with potential for some heavier cells to move through with lows in the mid to upper 30s
–Sunday and the first half of Monday look tranquil between the cold frontal passage and the Monday night into Tuesday storm potential
–Sunday looks partly to mostly sunny as some higher pressure nudges into the region, and Monday may start off partly sunny as well
–Highs both days look to reach the upper 30s to mid 40s with lows in the 25-30º range
–Clouds increase Monday afternoon, and then we watch a storm to our southwest and its interaction with high pressure to our northwest and an upper trough
–Accumulating snow is possible with this storm, and it does have the chance to deepen as iit passes south of us
–How far south it passes will help determine where heaviest snow would set up, and if there is a rain/snow line
–It doesn’t look like a blockbuster, but it could be impactful and should also pull colder air in behind its departure for mid to late next week with highs in the 30s and lows in the teens, so stay tuned for updates!
YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, we had a beautiful sunrise this morning, so please post pics if you snapped any!
It’s cold with temps in the 20s, and with a huge stripe of 1026mb high pressure from Maine down the eastern seaboard into South Carolina, sunshine is on the way for one more day!
Highs will be milder, rising into the low to mid 40s, so get outside and take a walk and soak some rays if you’re a sun craver.
Lows tonight will dip into the mid to upper 20s with patchy fog possible, as clouds increase with a warm front’s approach.
An early morning spot rain or snow shower is possible as the warm front passes through, providing a little bit of lifting air, and the rest of Friday looks mostly cloudy with a few sunny breaks possible later in the day with highs in the mid to upper 40s. We can’t rule out a few breezier moments as southerly flow develops.
At night, temps will be notably milder than last night, settling either side of the freezing mark.
By Saturday, milder air pushes into the region with more vigor, and highs should at least rise into the upper 40s to mid 50s from SVT/SWNH down through MA and CT, and we can’t rule out some folks approaching 60º for a day.
Clouds will persist, and as a cold front approaches Saturday night a period of scattered showers will work through the region, and a few could be on the heavier side with lows in the mid to upper 30s.
Morning Sunday clouds will transition into a partly sunny day with highs in the low to mid 40s, and Monday should see similar high temps.
Clouds will increase Monday afternoon after some morning partial sunshine, and we’ll be watching our southern stream storm system steaming east-northeast towards the Mid-Atlantic coastline.
One of the keys will be how far southeast stronger and colder high pressure can dig to prevent the low center from coming too close to the coastline, which would push a rain/snow line up north of the MA/CT state line, somewhere into WMass/CMass.
I don’t think that southeastward high extension will push the storm completely out to sea to our south, and I do believe parts of our region will see accumulating snow Monday night into Tuesday, with the best chance of that being in the Berkshires, western hilltowns, Franklin County, northern CMass up into SVT and SWNH.
However, there are lot of details to work out, so for now it continues to be a potential worth watching.
Behind that system, colder air moves into the region for mid to late next week with colder highs in the 30s and lows in the teens with fair weather.
Have a great day!

“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
