>>> MORNING DISCUSSION <<<
Good morning everybody, to start, I hope you will come out to the Shea Theatre tonight to celebrate life, art, love and music with a whole band of brothers and sisters who gather to pay heartfelt tribute to Doug Tibbles of the Stone Coyotes who passed from this world back in April, it is a not-miss event filled with love, tears, and fellowship, more info here.

As for our weather, we have a lovely weekend ahead, but it will be cold with highs only in the 30s today, and upper 30s to mid 40s tomorrow (some SVT areas may hang in the mid 30s).

Mostly sunny today, light wind, with partly cloudy skies tonight with lows either side of 20º.

Tomorrow is partly sunny, with increasing clouds late as a low pressure system develops off of the DelMarVa Peninsula region and tracks south of Cape Cod from Sunday night into Monday morning.

Clouds will build in the region late after highs crest into the upper 30s to mid 40s with southwest flow as high pressure tracks east of New England and out to sea.

Rain moves in around midnight or so, and ends sometime Monday morning as this will be a progressive, quick moving storm system.

We should see some initial snow in the pre-dawn hours in far northwest MA (northeast Berkshires into northwest Franklin County) and in the spine of the southern Green Mtns. of eastern Bennington and western Windham Counties where up to an inch or so may slush the ground before turning to rain there, too.

Everything clears out of here by Monday afternoon after about an half inch or so of rain falls, and then a cold front will swing southeast through the region.

This will bring very cold air into the region from central Canada, which is aided by low pressure in eastern Hudson Bay that will drive said air southeast into New England for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Highs will only reach the 20s and 30s for highs with lows in the teens, with blustery conditions both days expected (especially Tuesday). Some wind chills Tuesday night will dip into the single digits — in late November!

In addition, this should turn the lake effect machine ON, originating in Lake Ontario, which should result in a few lake effect snow showers in the Berkshires, western hilltowns, SVT, Taconics, and far northwest CT Tuesday and possibly Wednesday.

Aside from that light mountain activity, it’s a mostly fair and cold/cool week next week with highs “rebounding” from mid week into the 30s and low 40s for highs under partly sunny skies.

The following weekend could see another fast moving storm bring some more rain or snow into our region, but it doesn’t look like a big storm.

There are signals that early December could set up conditions that allow for slower storm movement, and the emptying of colder air into the region, so stay tuned for updates, as we can’t rule out a bigger winter storm during that timeframe as we start heading firmly towards the Winter Solstice.

The Equatorial Pacific is markedly different this year than the past 3 years, which featured below-average winter impacts, and not al El Ninos are made equal, folks. My gut tells me this will be a more wintry winter season, and I will keep you updated no matter what plays out!

Have a great day, and please come to the Shea in Turners tonight!

>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
