YOUR WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
–Patchy dense fog, especially in northern CT this morning, slows morning travel
–Fog lifts by mid to later morning and we lift temps into the upper 50s to mid 60s with partly sunny skies, enjoy!
–Southerly gusts 20-30mph kick up in front of an incoming cold front that moves through Saturday morning
–Scattered showers precede it later tonight into Saturday morning
–Thne skies will clear up and northwesterlies will gust 20-30mph tomorrow morning into afternoon with highs upper 40s to mid 50s, then crashing by late afternoon
–Cold tomorrow night, lows in the 20s, breezy
–Sunday and Monday look cold and fair, with some high terrain snow showers Sunday afternoon in the Berkshires, western hilltowns and SVT
–It looks partly sunny Sunday and mostly sunny Monday with highs in the low to upper 40s Sunday, 30s to low 40s Monday, with lows in the 20s
–Tuesday we cloud up and showers move in Tuesday late afternoon into the night, and until about mid day on Wednesday with periods of rain, which may be heavy at times
–I can’t rule out a period of snow overnight in the high terrain either, but regardless pre-Thanksgiving travel may have some impacts with a dry but cool Thanksgiving Day expected, but before we talk details let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in the Stop & Shop Plaza on King Street in Northampton, MA.
YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning folks, we’ve got some thick fog out there, especially in northern CT where a Dense Fog Advisory is up for very low visibilities, and I have heard a of a car crash in Rhode Island this morning, so take it slow when traveling in fog, better to be cautious.

The fog will lift as milder air is pushing into the region, and as temps come up, partial sunshine will break out and prop up temps into the upper 50s to mid 60s by this afternoon for one final very mild day. Southerly winds will gust 20-30mph ahead of the incoming cold front.

Clouds will increase later on, and showers should arrive either side of midnight, and be scattered in nature. Lows will be mild, in the 40s and 50s.

The main coastal storm is going to be a miss to our east, but the cold front will push through with some showers that should quit by mid-day.

Thereafter, winds will veer to the northwest, and gust 20-30mph in the afternoon, which will be a cooling wind, and temps will drop correspondingly through the afternoon after highs reach the upper 40s to mid 50s.

Skies should clear out by afternoon with some sunshine, and then lows will plummet into the 20s overnight with breezy conditions, so bundle up if you’re heading out.

Sunday and Monday are cold and generally fair days with highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s, but a weak disturbance could bring some lake effect-y snow showers to our high terrain areas west of the I-91 corridor for Sunday afternoon.

By Tuesday, I will be watching the track of a surface low pressure center from the middle of the country, which as of now is more likely to track north of us and spawn a secondary low that tracks through our region or just south.

This would allow rain showers to arrive and break out by mid afternoon or so on Tuesday and last through the night into the first part of Wednesday with rain, that could be heavy at times.

In addition, some wet snow could mix in over the high terrain areas. There is a very low chance this could turn into a more wintry event, but for now I’m not really seeing that.

Still even with a prolonged rain event, it slows travel a bit, so stay tuned for updates on that storm system.

Thanksgiving Day itself looks cold and breezy, but dry, with highs in the 30s to low 40s, with another storm possible late that following weekend.

Have a great day!

>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
