YOUR MORNING DISCUSSION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning everybody, we’ve got some dynamic weather coming our way today, tomorrow and Sunday, so gear up, grab the galoshes, and get ready for seesaw weather through next week.
For today, we’ve got plenty of juice to our south coming north, and first showers should arrive for some of us (especially in WMass) by 9am or so through the mid-day.
Showers are expected to become more numerous this afternoon as our upper low digging into the Ohio Valley continues to tilt negatively and sweep more moisture up from the western Atlantic and tossing it into our region with southeasterly flow and wind gusts of 10-20mph developing, so it should be a bit breezy later.
Highs will reach the upper 50s to mid 60s and it will be quite humid indeed.
In fact, as a low level jet streak lifts toward the region this afternoon and evening, we could see some heavy downpours and even some thunder!
Showers, heavy at times, continue tonight with lows only in the upper 40s to mid 50s.
Sometime by very early Saturday morning we could see a lull in the action, with a few light showers possible during that time.
As the upper low digs toward the coast and spawns a secondary coastal low pressure system off o the NJ coast by Saturday morning, it will track northeast through eastern New England into the afternoon and spread another period of rain into the greater WMass region during Saturday afternoon the way it looks now, with highs in the 50s to low 60s.
All rain should quit after sunset and before midnight, and west to northwest wind gusts will commence as out storm bombs out over the Gulf of Maine into Atlantic Canada, set to become a sub-980 millibar low over Nova Scotia which is powerful!
This will cause northwest wind gusts of 25-45mph to develop Saturday night into Sunday, with highest gusts at elevation.
Highs Sunday should only make it up into the mid 40s to mid 50s for a truly Autumnal day, with some afternoon showers possible, that will quit before they can change to snow in the high terrain overnight.
Lows will drop into the mid 30s to low 40s with isolated frost possible, and after a cool Monday with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 40s to upper 50s, we’ll see our lowest temps this nascent Fall season with lows in the low to mid 30s widespread with patchy frost.
After that, The Mildening commences!
High pressure will build east into our region, and the core of it will track south of us, putting us on the warmer side of the high.
This means that Tuesday through at least Thursday looks lovely with mostly sunny skies and highs increasing into the 60s by mid to late week with lows in the 40s.
By Friday or Saturday a cold front may be swinging into the region with more showers, and a true cold shot looks possible by early November, but that’s putting the cart before the horse.
I will update by late afternoon today as our storm system moves in and brings the rain and wind. Have a great day!
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
