>>> DAVE’S WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL <<<
–Patchy fog burns off later this morning… quite dew-y out there, too!
–High pressure up in southeast Canada continues to build southeast into New England today/tomorrow
–Mostly sunny skies rule for today and tomorrow with highs in the 65-70º range, and lows in the 40s
–Clouds build late Thursday night
–A weak low center will track toward the Mid-Atlantic coastline and stay south of us Friday into Saturday morning
–This may bring some scattered showers into our region, grossly south of the Route 2 corridor, and possibly even further south into mainly CT/RI/SE.MA
–Friday looks mostly cloudy and chilly with highs in the 60s and lows near 50º
–After any showers Friday P.M. into Saturday A.M., Saturday should be salvaged into a partly sunny day with highs in the low 70s
–Then we’re really off to the sunny races for Sunday through much of, if not all of next week with giant high pressure, and an east coast ridge building which will warm temps into the 75-80º range, but before we talk details let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in the Stop & Shop Plaza on King Street in Northampton, MA.

>>> MORNING DISCUSSION <<<
Good morning everybody, there’s not a ton of weather that will we’ll have to weather over the next 9-10 days, so that’s some really good news after a tough summer.

And even better news is that we’ll get a nice early-Autumn warm-up next week with many seeing highs well into the 70s thanks to a giant cyclone in the Pacific Northwest that will help form a large trough in the west, which pumps up a ridge in the east.

Troughs refer to areas of lower than average pressure aloft, and ridges refer to areas of higher than average pressure aloft. Troughs help foster inclement weather, and ridges helps foster fair weather.

For today and tomorrow, we’re going to bask in the sunshine with highs in the 65-70º range and lows in the 40s.

Clouds will build late Thursday night as a storm tries to sneak “under” (or south of) the main high pressure area in southeast Canada, and some showers are possible Friday into Friday night primarily.

How far north these showers make it into the greater WMass region will be due to interaction with high pressure north and how that impacts the track of our weaker low center coming out of the southern Ohio Valley.

For now, expect some scattered showers Friday afternoon and evening with highs in the 60s, but know that some areas north of the Pike may stay dry.

After morning clouds or a shower Saturday high pressure will resume its increasingly benign influence on our weather conditions for Saturday afternoon, Sunday, and then likely all of next week, the way it looks now (check back for updates, things can change, it’s the weather).

Not only that, but as a ridge builds in the east, warmer southwesterly flow will set up, and help boost high temps into the 75-80º range with plenty of sunshine during next week, with lows in the 50s.

Calm conditions shall prevail, and with that I wish you a great day!

>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
