>>> DAVE’S WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL <<<
–Overcast, highs in the low 60s today
–Isolated to scattered showers will track south to north this morning into early afternoon
–More moisture at all levels lifts northeast with a warm front later this afternoon
–Showers, some heavy, will be focused along this frontal boundary, with heaviest rain south of the Pike into tonight
–Some thunder is possible, and a couple of isolated street flooding areas may develop mostly in CT
–Showery tonight, lows in the low 50s
–Morning showers start to dry out north of the Pike, leaving northern CT and far southern MA in some showers that may last past mid-day, but should abate as high pressure builds
–Building high pressure pushes into our departing low, causing wind to develop out of the east, gusts to 30mph Monday
–Tuesday through Saturday look like fair weather days, but cool through mid week with 60s highs / 40s lows, and then 70s highs and 50s low with sunshine by late week into the weekend which looks pretty good at this range, but before we get into the details let’s check a note from our local weekend sponsor, #GerardGhazeyBatesPC, an estate planning law firm in Northampton, MA.

>>> MORNING DISCUSSION <<<
Good morning everybody, we’ve got another 24-30 hours of damp wet weather to work through before we get on the other side of this latest batch of atmospheric inclemency.
Over the past 24 hours, most areas have received a third of an inch of rainfall or much less due to that northerly intrusion of drier air I mentioned yesterday.
Our storm is no longer tropical, and is sitting over the Chesapeake Bay and DelMarVa Peninsula in the Mid-Atlantic region.
As the storm is forced to turn northeast and then east given high pressure to our north, it will extend its warm front north into southern New England this afternoon and tonight which will focus heavier showers and rain over our region.
So in general, the morning looks significantly drier than the afternoon and evening timeframe.
Highs will only reach to either side of 60º with lows near 50º. We also can’t rule out thunder this evenig or a couple of street flooding areas south of the Pike.
We should start showery Monday morning, but as high pressure continues to build southeast, drier air will work into the region and cause showers to be relegated to northern CT and southern CMass, and then further south than that as we dry out, and winds pick up and gust to 30mph out of the east as the storm makes its closest pass to us.
Highs Monday will reach the low to mid 60s, and we’ll finally dry out by night time with lows in the mid to upper 40s.
For now, this giant 1035mb high pressure system should dominate our sensible weather with fair conditions, partly to mostly sunny skies, low humidity and plenty of dry air from Tuesday through Saturday as we hit another dry pocket weather-wise.
Highs will reach the 60s Tuesday into Thursday with lows in the 40s to near 50º, and then by Friday into the weekend we should crest above 70º with a lows a touch milder as well.
We get through the next 24 hours or so and we shall be rewarded!
Another great soup day on tap! Have a great day!
>>> BE KIND <<<
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
