>>> MORNING DISCUSSION <<< Good morning everybody, many of us are starting off dry but very much suspended within a soupy firmament swimming with mosquitoes which are most unwelcome if you ask this writer. But at least we don't have any morning tornadoes, straight line wind damage or floods ongoing as we saw in the Mid-Atlantic region into southern NY yesterday, which have produced an F2 tornado there, I saw some pretty intense wedge footage indicating the same. For us in the WMass region, it's just cloudy and soupy, but not much rain except for easternmost sections, and certainly over Worcester County and northeast CT where the lift is better this morning. We'll see a mid-level wave spin through the region this afternoon, and that will act on this soupy air mass and generate some isolated to scattered showers or a storm or two here in the CT River Valley and points west, with a better chance for heavier rainfall and a strong to severe thunderstorm east into northeast CT and Worcester County. We can't rule out a quick tornado, but it's unlikely. Highs today will reach the 75-80º range and light southerly wind will combine with very humid air to make it feel stagnant. Our system drags a cold front through the region tonight and should clear out any isolated to scattered showers/storms east of here by about 10pm, and the wind will veer out of the west with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s. Wednesday will dry out, clear out, and humidity will come down, but the wind will be picking UP! Northwest winds gusts could blow as high as 20-35mph at times, so hold on to your hats and whatever else needs holding, but at least we'll have developing sunshine and highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s with lows in the 55-60º range. Thursday looks to start off lovely, again with highs either side of 80º, but sun will fade behind incoming clouds as another frontal boundary swings into the region, bringing showers/storms with it for the later afternoon and evening. Lows will drop to either side of 60º. Luckily this is a quasi-zonal pattern and things will keep moving along, because Friday is looking sunny and very nice, and these conditions will hopefully last into Saturday as well. Sunday is looking pretty decent, but some instability showers are possible in the afternoon with partly sunny skies. Highs should range from the mid 70s to low 80s during this period, which is quite seasonable. Have a great day! >>> BE KIND <<< “Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you've got to be kind.” --Kurt Vonnegut
