>>> MORNING DISCUSSION <<< Good morning everybody, we've had some patchy fog out there this morning, but that will evaporate as our temps come up and off of the dewpoints this morning. This will reveal mostly sunny skies today, which should be hazy at times given reduced but still-present wildfire smoke from western Canada, which has prompted Air Quality Alerts to be posted. Highs will reach the upper 70s to mid 80s. As the day wears on, some clouds may impact parts of CT due to a system that is diving south of us. In addition, humidity will decrease, and we should end up with a more comfortable night tonight with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s as drier air filters in. For Thursday, another nice day is expected under mostly sunny skies thanks to upper level ridging working through the region. Highs will reach the low to mid 80s, and an isolated shower is possible in the afternoon. Lows will hold in the low to mid 60s as clouds increase with a few overnight showers possible. On Friday, expect a mostly cloudy day as a frontal boundary approaches, draped southward off of a low center associated with our persistent central Canadian upper low which will track well north of us. Still, we can expect a few morning showers, followed by a line and clusters of showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening that may renew some flash flooding issues. We will be lacking other severe weather parameters such as stronger wind shear, or high instability. Instead, these will be slow-moving rainers, so the flood threat continues on that day due to poor drainage and wet soils after the historic flooding we experienced over the past week. Highs Friday will only reach the mid 70s to low 80s with lows in the low to mid 60s. The weekend, at the moment, continues to look like the best one we've had in many weeks! A partly sunny Saturday with a few leftover instability showers scattered about with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s will be followed by the weekend pick on Sunday with sunshine, lower humidity, and highs in the low to mid 80s, with similar conditions for Monday, woo hoo!! As for smoke, we'll see how that pieces goes, as I am unsure how the Saturday through Monday period will play out on that score, but will update as we get closer. By Tuesday, we've got scattered showers and thunderstorms back in the forecast, and it looks like it could get hot by end of next week, so stay tuned for updates, and have a great day! >>> BE KIND <<< “Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you've got to be kind.” --Kurt Vonnegut
