>>> DHTWN REMINDER <<<
I get that we're going through a rough weather patch, and that you may be really struggling in your own life as well, but I always find that if I can remember when I wake up to raise my eyebrows as I first look around my bedroom and think about the day, and put a small simple smile "on", it helps set a more positive, or at least hopeful tone to the outlook of the day.
What if it ends up only giving you 5-10 minutes of a better mood than you otherwise would have had?
I call that progress, a win, a good thing.
Life is rough mostly, but we have some relative control in our response to what we face.
Hang in there.

>>> DAVE’S WEEKLY WEATHER NUTSHELL <<<
--A morning lull under partly sunny skies begets some more showers and thunderstorms later today and tonight
--Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s today, quite humid
--Tonight will be mild, humid, lows in the mid to upper 60s with some showers and thunderstorms, localized flash flooding is possible
--Saturday is a brief break in the flash floody action, with a few showers around, but it should be mostly dry, partly sunny, and feature humid highs in the mid to upper 80s
--Lows under increasingly cloud sky skies only sit down to either side of 70º, with more showers and thunderstorms possible
--Sunday looks like it could become a washout with a mid-level shortwave moving into the region along with deep moisture at all levels, and a jet stream aloft that will diverge and force air to rise, producing areas of showers, downpours and thunderstorms
--This likely lasts in bursts all day long into the night, and renewed flash flooding is expected for some
--Highs will rise to either side of 80º, with lows in the 60s as showers wind down after midnight
--Monday actually is starting to look a bit better, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 80s
--Tuesday looks unsettled with another frontal boundary pushing into the region, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms, which will be followed by a pleasant looking Wednesday before more showers could arrive by late week, but before we talk details let's check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in the Stop & Shop Plaza on King Street in Northampton, MA.

As for today, I think the morning is going to be calmer with partly sunny skies, but more showers and thunderstorms will erupt later as we have a boundary laying about with all of this moisture and eventual surface heating to use to produce rising air and more wet weather in spots, which should last into tonight. Saturday looks drier, though some scattered showers and maybe a thunder rumble will be around, and into the night with highs well into the 80s as our humid air mass continues to lollygag around. Sunday is the day of the 5-7 days that I am concerned about, as a deep push of moisture is going to ride up the eastern seaboard and into New England. This should combine with a strong upper jet stream that will be vacuuming air away from up high, which will further combine with a mid level shortwave, both fo which will cause very moist air to rise vigorously. This looks like a recipe for more numerous showers, downpours and thunderstorms, with very heavy rain possible, and a likely more flash flooding Sunday and Sunday night. By early to mid next week, Monday and Wednesday are looking drier and nicer at the moment, with Tuesday potentially bringing another wave of scattered showers and thunderstorms, but even that day doesn't look like a washout. We've got to get through today, and especially Sunday before we have a hope of allowing fallen water to sink deeper into the surface, and for the rivers to drain properly and fully before we can really start to decrease the flood risk, which I hope happens with haste. I wish you well in all of the storms of your life, and the fair weather periods, too. >>> BE KIND <<< “Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you've got to be kind.” --Kurt Vonnegut
