Make it stahp! Ahh well, I'm afraid it won't be stopping any time soon in terms of the humidity, we're just in that flow now, and these upper troughs to our west that migrate east into New England keep reinforcing that southerly and southwesterly flow of warm and humid air into the region. For today, we're misting out this morning, along with seeing patchy dense fog. While the fog will lift as temps come up off of the dewpoints, mist may persist for a bit. Morning showers over southern VT into northern southwest NH should abate, and then we enter a lull into the early afternoon with a spot shower possible. By mid afternoon into the evening, a wave will approach the region that will help tap copious moisture and instability in place, along with a modest amount of wind shear to generate scattered showers, downpours, and thunderstorms, some of which may be strong to severe, especially along and south of the MA Pike. Strong gusty winds, torrential rain, and frequent lightning are the main concerns, with hail much less of one. Highs reach the upper 70s to mid 80s today under mostly cloudy skies, with lows in the 65-70º with scattered showers/storms on the earlier side. For the 4th of July, it's a similar setup, although the timing is a bit earlier in the day, so instead of roughly 3-9pm today, it is more like Noon-7pm tomorrow, maybe even a little earlier than that, with highs also in the low to mid 80s with lows 65-70º. Anybody with outdoor plans the next couple of days need to be prepared to duck under cover or inside, and generally have a rain contingency, because it could dump rain. For Wednesday into Thursday, some brief high pressure moves into the region, and we'll heat up into the 85-90º range for highs with dewpoints near 70º, which could push heat indices into the mid 90s. Lows again will be in the mid 60s to low 70s, continued humid. By Friday into next weekend, we look to move into less of a stormy pattern, and more of a typical humid, instability pattern with very warm days, partly sunny skies, and generation of scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s, but I'll refine as we get closer. Have a great day, and over the next couple of days, keep an eye and ear to the western sky, and I will keep you updated. Take care! >>> BE KIND <<< “Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you've got to be kind.” --Kurt Vonnegut
