As for our weather going forward, it's going to get worse before it gets better, and the "worse" has to do with a combination of periods of rainfall and thunderstorms between Friday afternoon and Monday, as well as the return of ground smoke and air quality issues by early to mid next week. The latter is going to be due to a ridge of high pressure setting up in south-central Canada which is from where these recent upper lows have been dropping south into the northern U.S. With its clockwise flow, it will direct more wildfire smoke towards us, so as I had intimated during the last bout we went through, because Quebec Province just lets fires burn, we're going to have to deal with this issue intermittently for a bit. I expect that by Tuesday we'll start to see ground levels of smoke, but we'll even see some aloft tomorrow with hazy skies, and we can't rule out some reaching the ground either. Luckily before we go through the next rainy, stormy, and smoky period we have a lovely day ahead today! Since an asteroid could make it all go away tomorrow, let's enjoy the only day we ever have, which is this one, the one we woke up to. Highs generally reach 75-80º today, and lows will be in the 50s, and while an isolated shower may form in northern MA, SVT or SWNH, it's basically dry today and tonight, so enjoy your outside activities. For Friday, we start off mostly sunny and dry, but cloud up and watch clusters of showers and thunderstorms track northeast into the region by mid to late afternoon ahead of a warm front. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid 70s to low 80s under hazy sunshine, which is nice and seasonable temperature-wise, with lows in the 50s. By Saturday, another upper low will press east out of the Great Lakes and develop a surface wave that tracks south of us and will spread rainfall into the region by Saturday morning, likely lasting much of the day into the evening. Highs will be cool, in the mid 60s to low 70s with lows near 50º. Sunday looks a bit brighter, but it's also looking pretty showery as the upper low portion tracks through the region with highs in the low to mid 70s. Monday and Tuesday feature more fair weather, but some afternoon instability showers scattered about as well with highs in the 70s, and the potential for more smoke to work into the region, so I will keep you updated. By mid to late next week, there are signs of some warmer temperatures more indicative of summer, and since the Solstice arrives at 10:57am on Wednesday June 21st, the timing could be quite poetic. Thanks, and have a great day! >>> BE KIND <<< “Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you've got to be kind.” --Kurt Vonnegut
