MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning folks, we’ve had mostly up to a quarter of an inch of rainfall overnight, with a few areas seeing more than that.
This morning, CMass is getting a bit drenched with a cell that may drop some small hail along with heavy rain, tracking north, as are other showers in WMass, SVT and SWNH.
We will see additional showers form later, and the middle of the day looks to be a particularly notable time for another batch of rainfall, again with thunder and small hail or graupel possible as the upper low continues to sink southeast towards our region.
Highs today will range from the upper 40s to mid 50s from north to south, with a few upper 50s possible.
Winds should be generally light out of the south and southwest, though some showers may bring breezier conditions.
For tonight, any showers should wane as the night wears on, and we may even get some breaks in the cloud deck, which with light wind would help to produce some patchy fog. Lows will dip into the upper 30s to low 40s.
For Wednesday, wouldn’t you just know it, MORE scattered showers for us, hooray!!!
Whoopeeee!!!
Yahoo!!!!
OMG!!!!!
Could it be true?
Yes, and I’m so excited I just can’t hide it!!!
(I’ll make killer sauce out of all the rotten tomatoes you’re digitally hurling at me, just so we’re clear).
Highs again, wait for it… in the upper 40s to mid 50s!
Lows again in the, wait for it…. mid 30s to low 40s!
We may even see some snow mix in with rain showers late Wednesday night in southern VT as colder air drains south on northerly flow as wind chases the upper low out to sea to our southeast.
Yes, #DUL (dopey upper low) will finally find an exit route, diving southeast today through Thursday and tracking south of New England out to sea.
This, however, pulls colder air into the region for Thursday with highs mostly in the upper 40s with scattered showers at times, with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.
By Friday, high pressure starts to nudge into the region with partly sunny skies developing along with a few isolated showers possible. Highs will bump up into the mid to upper 50s.
Then, my friends, The Mildening commences!
Partly to mostly sunny skies are expected for Saturday as an upper level ridge presses east into the region. Winds will be northerly on Saturday, which keeps highs in the 60s, but by Sunday flow comes out of the west which will allow highs to rise into the upper 60s to low 70s, and then low to mid 70s by Monday!
So hang in there, because we’ll be enjoying this milder, drier pattern change into at least the middle of next week, by which time some more showers are possible.
As always, may Life swing your way today.
Take care, Dave.
BE KIND
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
