MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning folks, it’s a chilly start once again this morning with temps in the 20s and 30s with calm to very light wind, so bundle up if you’ve yet to head out the door.

We’ve got fair weather days on the docket, and we’ll need to don summer clothes by late week, for sure.

Today, however, is not the day for shorts and tees, though it will be milder, with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s under sunny skies with a light west wind, which continues into tonight with lows in the mid 30s to low 40s with mostly clear skies, and some clouds northwest.

For Tuesday, high pressure over us today will be further south, and will encourage a west to southwest flow into the region. With a frontal boundary passing far north of us, these two features will act to kick up southwest wind gusts of 15-30mph on Tuesday with sunnier skies in the morning, and some high clouds in the afternoon.

Tuesday highs will rise up into the mid 60s to low 70s which is already substantially above average, with lows in the mid 40s to low 50s with continued breezy conditions.

Wednesday will feature increased breeziness just like Tuesday, and because of this, the risk for fire spread will be increased for Tuesday and Wednesday, so mind your burns, fires, and butts!

Highs Wednesday will be similar to Tuesday (mid 60s to low 70s, with some mid 70s possible in northern CT), and lows will be in the low 50s.

Then we enter the late-week Thursday/Friday stretch, which is going to be our first taste of Summer temps since the previous warm season.

Both days look sunny, with highs Thursday in the mid 70s to low 80s, and up into the upper 70s to mid 80s on Friday! Humidity comes up a bit, but it will not be muggy, so lows each of those nights will be in the 50s.

The weekend still looks quite warm with highs in the 70s, but a few showers may try sneak into the region, though that’s not certain at this point.

What seems more likely is a cold front will be pushing east towards New England by a week from today, and that could bring some rainfall, and possibly some thunderstorms, along with cooler temps behind it for next Tuesday.

Have a great day!

BE KIND
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
