MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning peeps! Now we’re back, where we started! Here we go ’round again! Day after day we get up and we say we gotta do it again! Do it again!
Name that rock band who wrote those lyrics, and I will give you the gift of a partly sunny day with a breezy afternoon!
We have a giant ocean storm today passing well southeast and out to sea, but its influence will be felt as it turns winds out of the north and kicks them up to 15-25mph with highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s for most of us (some mid 30s in SVT, some upper 40s in northern CT).
In other words, we will survive this day!
In addition, skies will become mostly cloudy in southeastern zones like north-central and northeast CT, and perhaps parts of southern CMass, with partly sunny skies elsewhere in the WMass region, on average.
For tonight, behind a weak cold front we’ll see temps drop into the mid to upper teens under clear skies, so our waning gibbous, just-past Full Snow Moon will be looking sweet!
On Tuesday, clouds will build as another cold front treks east into the region. Highs will reach the mid to upper 30s with rain and snow showers arriving by evening.
Some elevated towns may see some coatings, but otherwise it’s just a quick passing front with a period of showers during the first part of the night, with lows dropping into the upper 20s to low 30s.
On Wednesday, the pick of the week arrives, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s, with lows in the 20s. Enjoy!
On Thursday, clouds build as the first of two systems track into the greater WMass region. Both look mostly wet, but we’ll have to keep an eye on the second/Saturday system.
Much of Thursday looks showery, with potential for elevated areas to see some snow at the start Thursday morning. However, we should all flip to rain with highs in the mid 30s to low 40s, with showers ending at night and lows in the mid 30s.
Friday provides us with our brief meteorological interregnum with mostly cloudy skies and mild highs in the mid 40s to low 50s, with more clouds building at night with snow or freezing rain showers developing late, likely changing to rain on Saturday.
Cold air will be close by, so this storm may end as some snow Saturday night, and we can’t rule out some accumulations, but it’s early to have any clarity yet.
The second half of the weekend looks nicer with seasonably cool highs in the 30s under mostly sunny skies.
