MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning everybody, if you’ve been following me for a while you know that The Bulletization Mobile(TM) occasionally rams its deafening horn all up on my grill and lays it on thick until double–dashes come blasting out of me like a symphony in its full concert-ending crescendo, which is the case once again today, so I acquiesce, here come our weather deets in dashed form!
–We have ongoing areas of freezing rain and freezing drizzle this early morning period, mixed with plain rain
–Icing has been reported in Franklin and Berkshire County, and is likely occurring in other areas, so be careful on the roads this morning or out walking the dog
–This icing event will be light and scattered, and should end by mid to late morning as temps rise
–Then our warm front lifts toward us, but doesn’t get through WMass today
–A wave of low pressure develops along it and tracks east bringing a steady, raw, cold rainfall to the region by mid-day and lasting all afternoon and through tonight, ending by dawn
–Highs will be in the upper 30s to mid 40s or so today, and essentially that’s what we’ll see for lows with patchy fog developing
–For Wednesday, aside from a spot shower we should be dry and cloudy much of the day
–However, temps are still tricky as the warm front will be trying to move through while high pressure to our north will be draining surface cold south
–North of the front we’re in the 40s to low 50s tomorrow, and south of it well into the 50s to near 60º
–I think that front sets up near the MA/CT state line, we’ll see
–Another wave of low pressure moves along the front with more rain moving back into the region by late afternoon and early evening and lasting all night
–As this low tracks east, colder air will be allowed to drain further south and turn the northern Berkshires, Franklin County, northern Worcester County and SVT / SWNH to a mix of freezing rain and sleet with more icing expected in those areas overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning with lows in the 30s
–Thursday morning icy and rainy precip should end with another lull, but this part is uncertain, I will have to update you on Thursday
–Highs on Thursday will be cold, only reaching the mid to upper 30s, so if we do get additional precip after that second wave, it will likely be a wintry mix, so stay tuned for updates
–Another disturbance will pass through Thursday night into Friday with more light snow as the column cools from top to bottom, and a coating to an inch is possible by Friday afternoon with highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s
–The weekend into early next week looks like typical January with highs in the mid to upper 30s and lows in the upper teens to low 20s with fair weather expected, though there may be a few snow showers Saturday afternoon, I will keep you updated
–Next big storm chance is second week of January at this point
Have a great day!

AND REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
–Kurt Vonnegut
