***DHTWN DAILY WEATHER REPORT***
——————————————-
Good morning everybody, we’ve got a nice but breezy day ahead with a wind shift originating out of the northwest this morning and ending up from the southwest as high pressure builds in from our south, preceding tomorrow’s storm system.
Northwest wind will gust up to 30mph later this morning, and then back around to the southwest and weaken to about 20mph gusts or so as high pressure moves in from the south.
All this high pressure means mostly sunny skies, and highs will crest into the mid 40s to low 50s, so overall a very nice day ahead!
For tonight, winds slacken as high pressure moves into the region with light south flow and increasing clouds late with lows near freezing.
On Sunday, any morning sunny breaks fill in and we’ll see overcast skies develop with showers by early to mid afternoon after dry air is overcome at the surface. Highs will reach the mid to upper 40s.
A storm system having ejected out of the southwest U.S. will track northwest of the WMass region keeping us in the warm sector and spread rainfall through our region later Sunday afternoon and especially at night, ending by early Monday morning.
We should see either side of half an inch of rain, with perhaps a few areas getting close to an inch, but mostly a third to three-quarters of an inch should do it – a nice drink! Lows will settle down to near 40º.
On Monday, clouds will be slow to clear and we may see an isolated shower, though should stay mostly dry with highs in the 40s and lows in the mid 20s.
More sunshine arrives on Tuesday which will be the pick of next week, with highs in the low to mid 40s and light wind, and lows in the 20s.
Wednesday and Thursday represents a change in air mass, which is usually accompanied by precipitation on the front end, and wind on the back end as the storm or front departs.
In this case, we’ll get some southerly wind on the front end as strong southerly flow is drawn northward east and ahead of an incoming sharp cold front.
Winds will gust 20-30mph, and highs will be the mildest in a couple of weeks, cresting into the low to mid 50s!
Rain arrives in the afternoon, and continues into the night as a strong cold front pushes into the region, draped southward off of a powerful cyclone to our north.
Winds veer from south to west late Wednesday night and gust over 30mph into Thursday as rain shuts off and a cooler air mass moves into the region for Thursday.
Highs will be in the upper 30s to low 40s for the late week period with gusty winds at times.
In addition, with a strong pressure gradient out of the northwest, the lake effect snow machine should turn back on, primarily off f Lake Ontario, and could bring some scattered snow showers into the high terrain of CT, MA and VT west of the CT River Valley.
I will keep you updated on the late-week period developments, but for now, have a great day!

AND REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
