MORNING DISCUSSION
Good morning everybody, I try to put as much summary detail into the tops of these reports, so I hope you find that useful. As for the discussion below, let us discuss:

We had our front end thump of snow last night that blanketed much of the region with a coating to 2″ of snow before we flipped to sleet and freezing rain, and in some cases plain rain before and after midnight, depending on where you live.

Do you have any pics you can post? I would love to see them and so would others who follow this page.

No doubt the ice and rain overnight has combined with the not-yet very cold ground given that we’re in the middle of November, so melting has taken place, and that melting will slowly continue today as we warm above freezing.

Still, be careful of black ice tonight, as there should be some higher elevation snow or ice that may linger in shaded areas, and also due to the low sun angle.

Any freezing rain in the high elevation or rain showers lower down will quit by late morning most likely with highs in the upper 30s north to 40s in most spots, and as high as the low 50s in northern CT. Westerly winds will kick up behind the departing storm as it lifts into Atlantic Canada, and gusts to 25mph are possible.

We may even get peeks of sunshine later this afternoon, and the sunset may be nice one!

For tonight, again watch for black ice, with lows in the upper 20s to low 30s under partly cloudy skies.

On Thursday, we’ll be under broad cyclonic flow with a big upper low in the vicinity, which will flip the Lake Effect Snow Machine to the ON position, and we may even see a multi-lake Huron and Ontario hook up, which could drive some showers showers into the Berkshires, Taconics, SVT and the western hilltowns.

We may even see some flurries or showers in the Pioneer Valley floor!

Highs will reach the upper 30s to low 40s with lows in the low 20s as we clear our skies out.

Friday through Sunday look downright cold with mostly sunny skies, and highs only in the mid to upper 30s with lows in the upper 10s to mid 20s.

We will have to watch the potential for a coastal storm Sunday into Monday, but as of now, that looks to go out to sea.

Thereafter? More cold and fair conditions early to mid next week, with our next storm signal coming around Thanksgiving night into Friday, so stay tuned for updates.

AND REMEMBER…
“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
