Good morning folks, let’s rise and smile, shine and schpiel, put one foot in front of the other, take it one day at a time, and get down to bizness!

SUMMARY
Morning clouds should eventually give way to partly to mostly sunny skies, with heat and humidity building today and especially tomorrow, after which scattered showers and thunderstorms will move in Tuesday evening until about dawn on Wednesday morning, followed by a late-week episode of delight (that’s an EOD for those following at home) a/k/a The Coolening, but before we dive into all of the weather details below, let’s check a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, with their newest location in West Springfield, MA.

WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, we’re in the Cosmos still spinning, still corkscrewing, still hurtling, still orbiting, still signaling, still respirating, still traveling, still thinking, still feeling, still crying, still yelling, still laughing, and thus still WEATHERING during this late August day of the year 2022 on Planet Earth.

It’s pretty mind blowing when you stop, project your consciousness out to say, Jupiter, and look back. We’re a circus act under the Big Tent to be sure, and I’m glad we got to connect and orbit around each other for a while. You folks rock.

#contemplativemondays

As for our sensible weather, it’s a rather bland stretch, and unfortunately the drought will continue until A) We shift into deeper Autumn and start getting colder air to advect downward into southern New England’s latitudes which would then mix with warmer air to our south and consequently (hopefully) produce a few coastal rain storms, or B) we get some tropical storms or even a hurricane to either spread their rainy remnants in to southern New England, or worse, impact us directly.

While I never hope or wish for the latter despite my love for all things weather, I am keeping an eye on the September 8th to 10th timeframe, as it looks like a hurricane could form and track northeast of the Bahamas – this is NEVER a good track if you like to avoid southern New England landfalling tropical systems.

It’s a long way away, and likely a high pressure cell would force any such tropical storminess out to sea far, far away from us, but it’s on my radar and I will keep you updated if the hair starts to stand up on the back of my neck.

As for the 7-day discussion, allow me to double–dash you to Life, look out below!

–Morning clouds persist until mid to possibly late morning before allowing partial sunshine and then mostly sunny skies to develop
–High pressure exits east off the coast today, and allows light southwest flow to develop later on
–Highs should reach the mid 80s to low 90s and humidity should be moderate with dewpoints in the 60s (i.e. present, but not oppressive)
–For tonight, humidity increases with dewpoints rising into the mid to upper 60s (more muggy)
–Lows will settle into the mid 60s to low 70s as humidity increases, and patchy fog is expected
–An upper trough will track along the U.S./Canadian border through Wednesday
–This will spawn a surface low that tracks into northern New England which will drag a cold front toward the region Tuesday afternoon

–Morning clouds on Tuesday will give way to mostly sunny skies for a time before clouds redevelop in the later afternoon
–Highs will reach the mid 80s to low 90s again, but this time dewpoints will be up into the low 70s
–By later afternoon and evening, an approaching cold front will spread scattered showers and thunderstorms into the region, especially for Tuesday night into the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday morning
–This is good news for severe weather haters, as a night time frontal passage USUALLY prevents the strongest convective weather from forming
–Still, we can’t rule out a strong thunderstorm with gusty winds overnight, with lows in the 65-70º range
–Any showers quit by early Wednesday morning, which should turn into a nice day with highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s
–Lows will crash into the mid to upper 50s as much lower humidity air arrives, which will clear skies for stargazers
–Thursday and Friday look delightful with sunny skies, and cooler temps with highs in the 70s accompanied by very dry, crisp air (lows will dip down into the 50s both nights)
–Saturday and Sunday will warm back up well into the 80s as high pressure tracks east and puts in southwest flow once again
–In fact, Labor Day itself may see some 90º readings, so the heat isn’t done with us yet, folks, and we still have a few weeks left of Summah!

I hope you have a great day!

“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies: Goddamn it, you’ve got to be kind.”
