WEATHER REPORT
Good morning everybody, now we’re back, where we started! Here we go ’round again! Day after day we get up and we say, we’re gonna do it again, do it again, do it again!
Sorry, I had a little ear worm by The Kinks stuck in my brain that felt the need to be output into this morning’s weather report, brought to you by “I’m Sleepy”, which is my other side hustle business where I get paid to get extra sleep whenever the slumber strikes.
Well, no one’s paying me for that yet, actually, but you gotta have a dream, people!
Moving on to more practical and serious matters, we’ve got some patchy fog out there, notably in Westfield down into north-central CT at Bradley Airport where fog was particularly thick at the 6am hour.
This will evaporate with time, and we’ll be left with an overcast sky with a warm front that is pressing through the Berkshires as I type with temps in the 50s to the east and 60s to the west.
As this front moves through it should also help to break up the cloud deck after an overcast morning to produce some sunny breaks with highs reaching well into the 70s, though the high terrain near and north of the MA state line may hang in the upper 60s.
Then, thanks to a large storm over northern Manitoba, Canada and its wide counterclockwise circulation, another short wave will be sent eastward through the region overnight, clouding us back up, and bringing isolated showers and a thunderstorm or two starting later this afternoon, with a notable increase in activity overnight into at least the first half of Friday, and then ending with more widely scattered showers in the afternoon as we start to dry out.
Lows tonight dip into the low to upper 50s from north to south, with Friday highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 40s to low 50s as we clear out and dry up.
The weekend looks splendid, with tons of sunshine, dry conditions (though a spot sprinkle is possible Saturday afternoon north of the Rt. 2 corridor).
We can expect highs in the upper 60s to low 70s Saturday and low to mid 70s on Sunday, with westerly gusts to 20mph as fresh air moves into the region on Saturday, and lighter winds Sunday.
Lows will be in the 40s Saturday night and 50s Sunday night.
Monday completes the trifecta with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 70s with lows in the 50s.
We’ll then cloud up into Tuesday with a cold front approaching, that should bring showers into the mid-week period, but temps will still remain in the mid 70s.
That system does not look like a washout, so any rains we get from it and from this week will be most welcome.
In addition, we’re looking overall to be near seasonable temperature-wise through the month, which (so far) is in line with the fact that I am not seeing any big heat signals after the two sets of two-day hiccups we had last month that pushed us to 90º and above.
Hope this helps, and hope you have a great day!
