Good morning everybody, The Bulletization Mobile has lodged itself into the center of my cranium somehow, which is no easy feat because I’m incredibly thick-headed!! It’s blaring away from center-brain outward, and the only way it told me it would stop is if I proliferate another double–dashed weather report. Since I value my sanity and hearing, double dashes here we come!
SUMMARY
–We start off clear, but quickly we’ll see high and mid clouds moving east into our region this morning and afternoon
–Highs will range in the mid 40s to low 50s from north to south, and we should be mostly cloudy mid-afternoon, with a light north wind setting up
–The clouds are thanks to an approaching warm front, which will never fully get past our region tomorrow as high pressure that pushes east today will help to keep it at bay tomorrow
–Said high pressure will drain surface cool air southwest from its position over Atlantic Canada tonight, setting some of us up for late-season icing
–As we move into tonight, we’ll be very dry at the surface, but through the night, humidity will increase as moisture moves in ahead of the warm front
–A few showers are possible before midnight, and we could also see some snow mixed in over the mountain areas
–Precipitation becomes heavier/steadier between 1-4am, and this will help to evaporatively cool the surface temps and combine with our cold air damming setup to produce freezing rain and sleet in the aforementioned advised areas
–This will pull lows down into the low to mid 30s, with some upper 20s in parts of the southern Greens possible, which is where icing may even hold on into mid-day tomorrow
–Slippery travel is expected in high terrain areas tomorrow morning before we “warm” up and see icing end between mid to late morning
–Again while even Greenfield may see a bit of icing overnight, I expect south of Greenfield in the valley through Hartford and points east (excluding easternmost Franklin County and northern Worcester County where icing may hold on until mid morning or so) to be mostly plain rain
–Rain will fall heavily at times Thursday, and despite a potential mid-day lull, just assume a wet, showery day and cool with highs in the mid 30s to low 40s #RawIndeed
–Showers will continue Thursday night as our surface low sweeps northeast through the northeast U.S., with lows in the mid 30s
–By Friday, that storm should be departing northeast and we may end up with a partly sunny day and highs well into the 50s with lows in the 30s under mixed skies
–The weekend looks like we’ll be under the influence of an upper level system which will produce some instability showers at times that may mix with snow by Sunday in the high terrain, so expect a mix of clouds and sun
–Highs will be in the upper 40s to low 50s Saturday, and upper 30s to mid 40s on Sunday as colder air works in through early next week
–While we look to enjoy fair weather early next week it looks cold with highs only in the 30s on Monday, and then upper 30s to low 40s Tuesday
Have a great day, and remember…
