REPORT UPDATE
Good evening everybody, now that was a quite preview of our upcoming Spring. In fact, Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee, MA (KCEF for the nerds out there) hit 74º, which is a new record max high temp.

Many of us soared into the 60s and low/mid 70s today, but now we descend back to the reality of the middle of March.

For the rest of the evening, temps will drop into the low to mid 40s for lows, and I’m concerned that northern parts of the WMass region won’t rise a whole lot from there for tomorrow’s highs, depending on where a weak frontal boundary sets up overnight.

The bottom line is that we’ve got showers aplenty that will track northeast into our region after midnight, and reach our shores between say 4-7am in the morning, so many of us could awaken to some pitter patter activities of the liquid variety.

While I do expect some of us to reach into the low to mid 50s tomorrow for highs, I wouldn’t be surprised to see that occur along and south of the Rt. 9 corridor in MA, with some cooler temps north of there. I will update on this in the morning.

As for rainfall, showers should last, off and on, and in varying intensities through about mid to late afternoon before we get a break in the action, with some drizzle patches thereafter.

Then we will look west as a cold front pushes east with a weakening line of showers, downpours and thunderstorms.

We can’t rule out a thunderstorm here tomorrow, and we have even get some hail out of the deal, but severe storms should stay west of us over NY state, around and west of the Catskills and Adirondacks.

This nighttime line of showers and a possible storm will move through between 8pm-midnight, then the rain will exit east as our lows drop into the low to mid 40s with patchy fog possible late.

Sunday is the weekend pick, and despite a few isolated showers, we should be partly sunny with some areas seeing more clouds than sun, and highs in the upper 40s to mid 50s with a westerly or northwesterly breeze kicking up. Lows will be in the 30s.

Gorgeous and seasonable and dry and yummily sunny Monday through Wednesday with highs 40s to low 50s and lows near freezing, with more rain by Wednesday night into Thursday, possibly starting as some snow in southern VT late Wednesday night.

Have a great night, and remember…

Good morning everybody, The Bulletization Mobile(TM) is jammed so far up my nostrils I think it might be touching my Hippocampus – a little too close for comfort!

But hey, it’s blaring away and doing its job, which becomes necessary when you’re sleep-deprived and you forget to turn your alarm ON (my apologies for being tardy).

Thanks, Bulletization Mobile!! Off to the double dashes below!

SUMMARY
–We’ve got patchy dense fog out there this morning, and it will linger for another hour or three, longest in the CT River Valley
–Temps are in the 30s and 40s, and will stay there while the fog is preventing zero air from mixing into the region
–Low pressure is departing well east of us from yesterday, and as it does so, it causes a southwest flow to develop through the morning
–Our fog will burn off, sunshine will develop, and by afternoon we will be shooting up into the 60s, and as long as the fog burns off early enough (which it should), we’ll be seeing some folks getting into the low 70s as well
–These won’t be record-breaking temps, but quite warm regardless
–Tonight clouds build with lows in the 40s, and first showers should arrive in northwest CT and southwest MA just before dawn
–Saturday at this point doesn’t look like we’ll be presented with a stratiform rain shield, but more like periods of showers all day long producing varying intensities of rainfall
–Highs will be cooler, only reaching up into the 50-55º range, and showers will become less numerous by evening, with scattered showers continuing past midnight for some, with lows again in the 40s
–This storm should produce about half inch to an inch of rain, maybe a little less in spots
–For Sunday, we’ll be under the influence of an upper level system that will spread plenty of clouds through the region, but also mixed and spritzed with some sunny breaks, and a few showers at times
–Highs will top out in the upper 40s north to mid 50s south, so it’ll be a bit above seasonable
–Lows will drop into the mid to upper 30s as we dry and clear out
–Monday through Wednesday looks like a gorgeous, seasonable stretch with highs in the mid 40s to low 50s, and lows near freezing, under partly to mostly sunny skies as high pressure moves in and stays for a while
–By Thursday we could be dealing with a substantial rainstorm, so the end of the week looks wet, and I will keep you updated on that as we get closer
