Good morning everybody, there are a few of us with temps at or just below freezing and with overnight showers, watch out for any slick spots early this morning, though those should be isolated. Otherwise, we have seesaw weather to discuss below delivered through my internationally patented double–dash format! I’m such an innovator!

SUMMARY
–Patchy dense fog in the Pioneer Valley and a few other spots around the greater WMass region will lift with time this morning, but visibility will be low at times
–We do have a few spots in the 29-32º range in the southern Berkshires and other areas, so watch for any localized black ice
–Otherwise, clouds will be clearing, fog will be lifting, and we will be developing a partly to mostly sunny day with highs ranging from the low to mid 50s north to the mid to upper 50s in the valley, to the upper 50s to low 60s down into northern CT
–High pressure builds through the region and to our south, keeping our skies mostly clear tonight with lows in the mid to upper 30s
–For Thursday, clouds will be increasing. With high pressure scooting east, that will allow coastal low pressure to track close enough to give us a glancing hit of showers, mostly south of the Rt. 2 corridor by late morning into the afternoon
–Highs will reach the mid 50s to low 60s, and showers should end by around midnight as the storm pulls away and out to sea, with lows in the low 40s
–For Friday, southwesterly flow will be unleashed, and we’ll get a true Spring day in here with highs in the 60s to low 70s under mostly sunny skies
–For those lucky enough to have a long weekend that starts on Friday, that’ll be a sweet kick off, because the weekend isn’t looking too hot to trot
–A frontal boundary will be pushing toward our region Friday night, the lows of which look to drop squarely into the 40s
–Rain arrives pre-dawn on Saturday morning, and should last well into the afternoon before the precip shield breaks up into scattered showers through the evening
–Highs will reach the upper 40s to mid 50s and lows will dip into the low 40s
–We could see half an inch to an inch of rainfall from this system
–More scattered showers are possible Sunday, but less rain is expected with highs in the mid 40s to low 50s
–Early next week looks like a partly sunny to mostly cloudy set up with an upper level trough swinging through
–These setups usually produce periods of sun, clouds, and intermittent isolated showers at times, and we can expect our highs to reach up to the mid 40s to low 50s
–Another rainstorm looks possible Wednesday night into Thursday which may start as snow for some if it comes in overnight during the coldest part of the night
–We have to watch for the last several days of March as an anomalous upper level trough may take up residence in the northeast U.S. and so we can’t rule out wintry weather sometime around then, especially for our western hilltowns, Berkshires and southern VT areas
