DISCUSSION:
Good morning everybody, you know, The Bulletization Mobile(TM) has not paid me a visit in a long, LONG time, and I was getting worried there, but just when I lost hope, it rammed its beeping snout into my living room and is honking incessantly, imploring me to list things out this morning, and since I desire my morning coffee without a horn blaring in my ear, comply I must.
SUMMARY:
–High pressure builds through the region today, creating lighter winds, and ample sunshine, with a few clouds by afternoon north of Rt. 2
–Highs will be in the mid 20s to mid 30s again from north to south, and westerly gusts shouldn’t exceed 20mph, and will likely be lighter than that (after a calmer morning)
–For tonight, high clouds build in late, with temps bottoming out in the teens across the region. Dry conditions are expected.
–On Saturday, high pressure will have exited to our southeast over the Atlantic, while surface low pressure rips northeast into the Lake Ontario region, destined to pass through northern NY
–This will float a warm front through our region by afternoon with a few showers possible with highs in the mid 30s to low 40s
–Isolated to scattered showers, intermittent in frequency, will be around through Saturday afternoon, evening and overnight, when temps may flirt with the freezing mark, causing a few slick spots with light freezing rain showers
–A deeper push of milder air flips us to plain rain showers, which will increase later Sunday morning into the mid to late afternoon, with rain falling heavily at times
–Highs will be quite mild, cresting into the mid 50s to low 60s
–West-southwest winds may gust up to 30mph as well, so it’ll be a bit balmy on Sunday
–Showers should come to an end by Sunday night with mostly cloudy skies expected and lows in the mid 30s to low 40s
–The Monday to Tuesday timeframe looks like the most inclement period in our near future, as a frontal boundary associated with the weekend system sets up in a west-southwest to east-northeast orientation
–This boundary, convergent zone, and precipitation ribbon will then slowly slide east, keeping us in the precip for between 18-24 hours from Monday afternoon to Tuesday late morning, the way it looks now
–Monday’s high temps should reach the low to mid 40s, with lows dropping into the low to mid 30s
–It’s possible that by Tuesday morning, some accumulating snow works into the picture, especially along/north of Rt. 2, but we can’t rule snow further south than that. Either way, I’ll be watching it and will keep you updated
–Precip in whatever form ends by Tuesday noon, and it looks like we’ll get a decent slug of moisture through here by then
–Highs Tuesday will be in the upper 30s to low 40s with lows in the 20s
–Wednesday looks like a mostly sunny day with highs in the 40s as brief high pressure moves in, but we’ll have to watch for a potential coastal storm late week, and another one over the weekend
–While next week is mild overall, the following weekend into the following week continues to look colder with potential winter storminess, so stay tuned for updates as we get closer.
