DISCUSSION:
Good morning folks, after our wild Saturday and relaxed Sunday, we’ve got a gorgeous Monday to live and breathe through, and I do hope things go your way today!

If you can, try to do one thing you love today that you haven’t done in a while, even if it’s only for 10-15 minutes. It’ll make you feel better, always does.

As for our weather, high pressure builds through and gives us one more sunny day with light to calm wind, and highs in the upper 40s to low 50s generally speaking, mildest to the south.

For tonight, clouds will increase and lows will drop down to either side of 30º for most. Moisture will be increasing so dew point temps will be rising as air temps fall, so some patchy fog is possible in the Pioneer Valley, and possibly some other spots as well.

In addition, there’s a very low chance that a few isolated showers will move through early Tuesday morning when temps are still around freezing, so some very limited, patchy freezing is possible, but is unlikely.

Generally, Tuesday is cloudy with showers developing by early to mid afternoon, with highs reaching the low 50s. As a low pressure center tracks well northwest of us, we will reside in a deep southwesterly flow of warmth and moisture.

This will push heavier and steadier bands of showers and rainfall into the region by Tuesday evening, and rain will fall moderately to heavily at times Tuesday night with lows hanging in the mid to upper 40s as the southerly siphon keeps drawing forth mildness and moistcha. It’ll be breezy as well.

By Wednesday morning, the rain should be clearing out of here, but the cold front is not slated to pass through the region until early to mid afternoon.

This will set us up for a very mild Wednesday, with highs cresting into the mid 50s to low 60s, and we can’t rule out some mid 60s from Springfield to Worcester, southward into CT/RI with partly sunny skies developing by afternoon.

However, we’re not heading into Spring just yet despite what will be the second super solid Mildening in recent days/weeks.

Instead of early Spring, a cold front will careen through the region by Wednesday afternoon and early evening, and in will come the cold air from Canada on northwesterlies blowing over 40mph at times. This will drop temps into the teens to low 20s for Wednesday night lows.

By late week, we’re back to Winter. Thursday looks like a nice, sunny, but cold late February day with highs in the low to mid 30s, with lows dipping into the low to mid 20s as clouds increase.

A storm system will be ejecting east-northeast out of the Ohio Valley toward the Mid-Atlantic coastline, and depending on track, this could produce a ribbon of accumulating snowfall, with a snow/sleet line setting up somewhere over the southern half of MA down into northern CT, the way it looks now.

We’ll have to watch not only the track, but the strength of the primary low, and if any secondary low develops near Cape Cod, where that happens, how fast it strengthens, etc. to get an idea of how much cold air will be present and how far south it will be held.

If this all comes together, we could be talking about a widespread plowable snowfall, with half a foot not out of the question, but there will also be a snow/ice line, so I will be updating you the whole way, so check back with me!

It’s still too early to talk totals, but it could be an impactful system, especially given that snow would move into antecedent cold air, and the timing would put the snow in here during the late pre-dawn hours of Friday morning. Highs look to crest into the upper 20s to mid 30s on Friday with lows in the upper single digits to teens.

The weekend looks fair and cold, and a storm will be nearby to kick off next week, so I will keep an eye on that too.

I hope you have a great day, and may The Force Be With You!
