6:50AM-FRI: SUPER CHANGEABLE WEATHER CONTINUES THROUGH THE NEXT WEEK WITH COLD GUSTY WINDS TODAY, A COLD TRANQUIL WEEKEND, WARM GUSTY WINDS MONDAY, AND POTENTIAL FOR A SNOWSTORM FOR SOME OF US BY WEDNESDAY, WITH MORE RAINY DISTURBANCES AFTER THAT…
Good morning everybody, well that was certainly an interesting 24-36 hour period of weather, with snow, freezing rain, rain, thunder, lightning, hail, graupel, and wind, and now more gusty winds to 40mph or so with cold air advection.
We’ve got a lot to cover this morning, but before we jump into the details, I’ve got a note from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo, who just opened a new location in West Springfield, MA.

WEATHER BULLETIN:
–May The Force Be With You #EndOfWeatherBulletin
–I kid, as you know, we’re going to be gusty and blustery this morning well into the afternoon
–Gusts will reach 40mph at times, and we currently have 1100 outages in the WMass and CMass area, so those came to pass
–More are possible as we face our star today with highs only reaching the mid to upper 30s with wind chills in the 20s at times
–We can’t rule out a hilltown snow shower or flurry, either… otherwise, we should see partly to mostly sunny skies
–For tonight, winds will slacken as high pressure pushes in closer to New England, weakening the pressure gradient, which will produce lows in the upper teens to low 20s
–For Saturday, a weak disturbance works through with a few afternoon snow showers possible
–Expect partly sunny skies on average with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s, and lows in the low to mid 20s
–Sunday looks brighter, mostly sunny, with similar highs in the upper 30s to low 40s, and lows near freezing as clouds increase
–We may get a pre-dawn Monday morning snow thump, before quickly changing to rain as a warm front passes through the region
–Then we have a wild day on Monday upcoming, with temps soaring into the mid 50s to low 60s for highs on strong southerly flow, plenty of showers working through the region, and wind gusts up to 50mph possible, especially east of the I-91 corridor
–Yet another cold front comes slicing through Monday night and flips rain showers to snow showers, and plummets temps into the 20s
–Tuesday looks quite cold with highs in the mid to upper 30s and lows in the 20s with clouds increasing
–A storm system will be tracking more southerly, and could pass off of the Mid-Atlantic coastline, keeping us on the cold side of the storm
–Should this happen, we could see the first widespread accumulating snowfall across the entire region (not just mostly higher terrain areas) including the Pioneer Valley
–All this to say, please stay tuned for updates for what is anticipated to be a highly changeable and active weather pattern through the next week, as additional storms are possible the following Friday and weekend
Have a great day!
