6:45AM-TUES: ONSHORE FLOW BRINGS COOLER TEMPS, A FEW DRIZZLE PATCHES, LIGHTER SHOWERS, AND EARLY PATCHY FOG TO THE GREATER WMASS REGION TODAY FOR A RATHER RAW FEEL… OUR FORTUNES TURN MID TO LATE WEEK WITH MILDER, SUNNIER CONDITIONS BEFORE A CLOUDIER, COOLER WEEKEND VISITS THE GREATER WMASS REGION WITH SHOWERS POSSIBLE BY SUNDAY/MONDAY…
Good morning folks, with a low to our south, and high to our northeast, the combination will keep the flow turned out of the east and northeast today, which means mostly cloudy skies, cool temps, and low level moistcha – a trio of boo hoo. But, better times in the weather department are on the way through the week’s end!
We’ll jump into all those details below, but first let’s get a word from our local and delicious sponsor, #TandemBagelCo

DISCUSSION:
Copious rainfall fell over the past 24-36 hours, and while as of this writing I’m still waiting for totals updates to populate, it appears that about 1.5″-4.5″ fell since Sunday evening across the region.
Remember that, in general, a Summer and Autumn season that feature more rainfall tends to produce a later foliage season, with colors that are more muted, so even though northern New England is lightning up right now, I’m not so confident that our southern New England colors are going to be brilliant, but I hope I’m wrong.
For today, early fog will dissipate, but mostly cloudy skies, a few light showers, and lingering drizzle patches will be roaming about the region. #WhenCloudsGetEmotional
We can thank low pressure to our south and high pressure to our northeast for today’s gray malaise, as both will be conspiring to turn our flow out of the east and northeast, off of the ocean. This will keep us cool, cloudy, and moist. #EverybodysFavoriteWord
Highs will only reach the 55-60º range, and maybe a bit cooler than that in SVT/SWNH. Some brightening of our skies is possible north of Rt. 2 late today, and lows tonight will hover either side of 50º.
On Wednesday we turn the corner! High pressure will build into the region, and produce a gorgeous 3-day stretch with warmer temps and abundant sunshine.
Highs Wednesday should reach the mid 60s to low 70s, with low to mid 70s on Thursday and Friday! Lows during this period will drop into the upper 40s to low 50s, for the most part, with partly to mostly clear skies. Yahoo!
However, by the weekend, another frontal boundary descending from north to south will cool us down a bit, more like low to mid 60s, and will also focus some moisture over our region, that may combine with a coastal low pressure system to our south.
This should at least bring mostly cloudy skies to the region by Saturday into Sunday, though Saturday should be mostly dry. However, it is Sunday into Monday that may produce more rainfall across the region, which is exactly what we don’t need at this point.
For now, I don’t see any big cool-downs, as we’re in a holding pattern of 60s and 70s for highs, with the occasional day or two in the 50s if onshore flow sets up.
Have a great day, and I hope things go your way today!
