Western Mass Weather for September 19, 2021

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS MY FRIENDS *BOW* *BOW*, AND WE’LL KEEP ON DRYIN’, TIL’ THE END (WELL, AT LEAST THROUGH WEDNESDAY)… A BEAUTIFUL 3-4 DAY MOSTLY SUNNY AND DRY STRETCH OF SEASONABLE CONDITIONS TO END THE SUMMER OF 2021… SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS RETURN BY LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY, AND INTO FRIDAY BEFORE MORE HIGH PRESSURE BRINGS IN DRIER CONDITIONS FOR NEXT WEEKEND…THE 2022 CALL FOR MY 8TH EDITION WEATHER WALL CALENDAR CONTINUES, MESSAGE ME FOR DETAILS/SPECS… 6:55AM SUNDAY

Good morning everybody, much less humid and more chilly out there this morning compared to last! Temps are in the upper 40s to 50s, with dewpoints in the mid 40s to mid 50s, for an autumnal feel as we stumble out of bed, jump up with spritely excitement, grumble around and almost knock the coffee pot over, or get woken up by our pets needing attention for one reason or another.

For today, Monday, and Tuesday, large, sprawling high pressure centered over the eastern Great Lakes but covering the entire eastern seaboard, will slowly move east into and through New England and the northeast U.S.

This will provide 3 days in a row of mostly sunny, dry conditions, light winds, and highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s, with lows firmly in the 40s tonight, and then the low to mid 50s Monday and Tuesday nights.

On Wednesday, I do expect we’ll also enjoy a dry day, and may have some sunshine to start the day, but clouds should be building fairly quickly, and it appears more clouds than sunshine will be the rule for that day, with highs again in the upper 60s to mid 70s.

At night, southwest flow will become more pronounced, and so humidity will rise, lows will hang near 60º, and a few showers will be possible after midnight.

Thursday and Friday look to feature a slow-moving cold front into the region, snakily-extended off of an upper low pressure system that will be tracking northeast into the Great Lakes slowly, which could produce an extended 48-hour period of showers and downpours in our region, with showers tracking more or less south to north through the region.

Highs will again be in the 60s and 70s during this period, and hopefully by next Saturday, we’ll get into some of that sweet, dry Canadian air once again.

I will keep you updated on the late-week period as we get closer, but for now, enjoy the cosmic rays from our star!
