7:05A-FRI: LAZY DOLDRUM-Y SLUMBERY WEATHER WILL HELP FOSTER SLEEPYNESS, DULL RESPONSES AT THE WORK PLACE, AND A LIFE CADENCE ANALOGOUS TO AN OLD DOG WHO’S NOT GONNA PLAY FETCH FOR ANYBODY ANYMORE… COUPLA SPOT SHOWERS TODAY AND TOMORROW, BUNCHA SUN SUNDAY THROUGH LIKELY WEDNESDAY, SHOWERS AND HUMIDITY RETURN LATE WEDNESDAY INTO LATE WEEK BEFORE THE CRISPENING BREATHES NEW LIFE INTO THE AUTUMN OF 2021…

Good morning folks, we’ve got pedestrian weather on the way through at least Wednesday before a strong frontal passage brings some showers and storms Thursday, which should then usher in deeper autumnal conditions, with a potential for highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s by the first Autumn weekend of 2021.

We’ll jump into the details below, but first let’s get a word from our local and delicious sponsor. #LicksChopsHappily

SYNOPSIS:
We’ve got some dense fog near the Worcester metro area in central MA this morning, and in a few other spots, but fog mostly did not materialize overnight.

For today, we’ll see a few spot showers or drizzle patches mostly in northeast CT or southern CMass today, and one or two may make it into WMass, but overall, we’ll be mostly cloudy with a few sunny breaks, especially north of the Rt. 2 corridor.

Highs today will reach the low to mid 70s with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s with again a few areas of patchy fog by morning.

On Saturday morning, the quasi-tropical system will make its closest pass to New England, but should still stay southeast of The Benchmark (a point about 80 miles due south of Nantucket at 40ºN / 70ºW) and only bring a few isolated showers to areas east of the I-91 corridor.

After a mostly cloudy Saturday morning, I think the upper level high pressure ridge and incoming surface high pressure will help to create a partly sunny day with highs in the 75-80º range.

The afternoon and evening should feature some more scattered showers as a weaker cold front presses in from the northwest and sweeps that storm further out to sea.

Behind that the wind will shift out of the north or northwest, and it will become a bit breezy in the evening. Lows will bottom out into the mid to upper 50s.

Ahhh, then Sunday arrives. Sunny Sunday. Highs in the low to mid 70s, calm, peaceful, drier, and lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. #winning

The Monday through Wednesday timeframe looks equally lovely with highs in the mid to upper 70s with plenty of sunshine, and lows in the 50s, can’t beat it!

By later Wednesday, some clouds may start to build in our western skies, as a strong cold front with even cooler and drier air behind it starts its approach, with hopefully another deeper step down into Autumn as we pass the Autumnal Equinox (oops, I let my bias for cooler weather slip in there, bad reporter! #SlapsHand).

Clouds increase Wednesday night and Thursday is looking like a potential thunderstorm-y day, and potentially windy as these kinds of pattern shifts can really invigorate frontal boundaries as they pass through, so keep an ear up for updates on that.

Highs on Thursday likely only reach the upper 60s to low 70s as we cool down behind the front later in the day, and Friday into next weekend could feature a REAL taste of the incoming season change.

This writer is hoping that’s going to, in fact, be the case.

Have a great day!
