Good morning everybody, it’s been a long, long time since we’ve entered double–dash mode together. I have a sixth sense about these things, and I just know that you’ve been pining for these crude-imentary bulleted-list delineators to be employed once again, and since I’m just that kind of guy, I’m going to comply with your secretly-held wishes this morning. So without further adieu, please check a quick note about our sponsor immediately below, and off to the weather races we will go!

SYNOPSIS
–The final day of our heat wave arrives today for most of us, though low chance for 90º in Springfield/Hartford tomorrow
–Heat indices push into the upper 90s to low 100s today
–Folks with respiratory issues, migraine conditions, and those whose bodies handle this kind of heat/humidity poorly should limit outdoor activity, stay cool as much as possible, and stay hydrated (please click through the attached charts for info)
–After patchy morning burns off, we develop a mostly sunny day, with a very low chance for an isolated shower or storm
–Highs reach the mid to upper 80s in the high terrain to low to mid 90s in the valley areas
–With dewpoints in the 60s to low 70s, heat indices push 100
–For tonight, lows drop into the 65-70 range with continued humidity under partly cloudy skies
–For Friday, after some patchy morning fog, a cold front slides through, but without supporting dynamics which will be well north, we get only a few showers or storms in the evening after a very warm day in the 80s to near 90º under mostly sunny skies
–Friday night we see a few showers move through, with another backdoor cold front moving through and dropping dewpoints down into the upper 50s to low 60s, and temps as well
–Saturday our cold front settles south of us, and some energy will ride along that boundary to our south
–Now on the cooler side of the front, it appears that onshore flow will cool us way down into the upper 60s to mid 70s on Saturday, which will be a cloudier day with a few breaks of sunshine
–Showers will likely develop in the afternoon, especially over CT, but possibly through all of WMass as well, I will update this as we get closer
–These showers could last into Saturday night with lows near 60º
–Sunday is unclear at the moment, as it will hinge on the timing of a warm frontal passage through the region, in terms of how much sun we’ll see, humidity level changes, and shower and storm chances, so I will update you on this as well
–Early next week looks more humid and warmer with shower and thunderstorm chances increasing in front of another cold front that will move through the region
–Yesterday, it looked like by mid week we’d be cooling down and drying out, but now we have to wait to see if a potentially strong hurricane in the Gulf spreads its tropical remnants through our region, with the potential for more flooding rains. Oh joy.
Well, that does it for now, have a great day peeps!
