YOUR FOURTHCAST/FORETHCAST: SIGNIFICANTLY DRIER, MILDER THAN YESTERDAY, SOME PARTIAL SUNSHINE AT TIMES, A FEW ISOLATED SHOWERS, MAYBE A THUNDERSTORM, BUT NOT A WASHOUT TODAY, THANKFULLY… SUNSHINE RETURNS TOMORROW WITH WARMER TEMPS AND A SHOWER/STORM IN THE EVE… HOT AND HUMID TUESDAY, WARM AND HUMID WEDNESDAY WITH MORE NUMEROUS SHOWERS/STORMS WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THE LATE WEEK PERIOD… ELSA LIKELY PASSES OUT TO SEA SOUTH OF US, BUT MAY HELP GENERATE SOME SHOWERS ACROSS THE REGION… 7:50am Sunday…
Good morning everybody, I woke up today with These Dreams by the band Heart rummaging around my mind, and I hope your dreams were good ones, or maybe even instructional or prophetic.
As for our weather, it’s Sunday the 4th, and that means it’s double–dash time, since everybody likely has plans, things to do, and thankfully these days, people to see, so allow me to wear out the hyphen key!
SUMMARY
–The upper low responsible for the cool air and rainy conditions over the past couple of days is finally exiting to the east
–Now located over Cape Cod Bay it will continue to sail northeast into the Canadian Maritimes, but we will still feel its waning influence today
–That influence will be mostly felt in the form of clouds, and a few scattered light showers at times, with a thunderstorm possible in the afternoon
–We will also start to see skies brighten and we will get some partial sunshine to develop, especially by early to mid afternoon
–Highs will reach the upper 60s to low 70s, with lows dropping into the low to mid 50s
–On Monday, high pressure builds into the region, and sunshine should become more abundant
–Party to mostly sunny skies will brighten the start of the week, and highs will rise into the mid to upper 70s, with a few 80º readings possible down near Springfield/Hartford
–Lows Monday night will only settle down into the low 60s as humidity works into the region with a warm frontal passage, which could also kick off a thunderstorm or shower
–By Tuesday, we’re into a brief hot/humid sector, and highs are expected to soar into the mid 80s to low 90s
–We could see some short-fused Heat Advisories get hoisted in parts of the Pioneer Valley down into northern CT with head indices rising into the mid to upper 90s with humid conditions
–We can’t rule out an afternoon shower or thunderstorm, and lows are only going to bottom out in the mid to upper 60s with humid conditions
–Wednesday is quite warm with highs in the mid to upper 80s with mostly sunny skies earlier on, but by the evening clouds may be building due to an incoming cold front
–By Wednesday night I expect more showers to develop as the cold front presses toward the region, with lows in the mid 60s and humid
–Thursday looks like the rainiest day of the week as the front moves in, and we see if Elsa is going to help enhance rainfall across the region, or if it is going to stay well southeast of us, a solution toward which I’m currently leaning
–Friday into Saturday looks partly sunny on average, with some instability showers in the afternoons
–High temps Thursday through Saturday generally look like a range of mid 70s to low 80s, which is near seasonable
Have a great day and Happy 4th of July to you!
