Good morning everybody, due to how dashing double dashes are these days, I figured it’s as good a morning as any for a #DoubleDashDeployment (DDD):
SUMMARY
–Clouds will thicken this morning
–Our storm over western NC is going to make a beeline NNE to northern NY today, strengthening as it does so, aided by a digging upper level low over the Ohio Valley
–This will send a low level jet streak howling up the eastern seaboard a half mile to mile above our heads
–Strong southerly flow will push much milder surface temps into the WMass region today, with highs in the mid to upper 50s
–Rain arrives by late morning and lasts until about midnight, first as a fairly uniform rain shield, and then more showery into the night, with a thunderstorm possible
–While we can’t rule out a severe storm or even a weak tornado in my coverage area (CMass, northern CT, CMass, SVT, SWNH), that threat should be relegated more to northeast CT into southern CMass, and even then, probably not even there, more likely southeast MA if it comes to pass, it’s a very low chance
–Wind gusts maximize between 4-10pm today, and will be strongest where temps can push closer to or even exceed 60º, during that timeframe, so watch for that
–Some power outages and/or tree/property damage is possible
–Rain should quit by around midnight or a bit thereafter, with lows in the low 50s
–For Tuesday, highs crest into the low to mid 50s early, but behind a cold front will drop in the afternoon
–With our surface low long gone, we will still be under the influence of the larger, broader upper low circulation still spinning west of us, and that will keep some instability around, with scattered showers, mostly in the afternoon tomorrow
–Southerly wind gusts on Tuesday will blow 20-30mph at times
–At night, we cool down into the upper 20s to low 30s for low, and a few scattered rain or snow showers will be possible
–On Wednesday, expect highs in the upper 30s to low 40s under partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies with one more day of upper low influence before it lifts northeast and out of the region Wednesday night into Thursday
–As such, a few rain or snow showers are possible
–Lows Wednesday night bottom out in the upper 20s
–The Thursday through Sunday period looks much cooler, with highs generally in the low to mid 40s range with high pressure providing ample sunshine Thursday and Friday to end the week
–However, another period of rain or showers looks more likely than not on Saturday into Sunday, and we look to turn colder after that into next week
–If we’re going to get a chance at wintry weather it will come in the first or second week of December, so I will keep my eyes peeled!
