Good morning everybody, I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday. I had a lovely day, cooked like a crazy man and enjoyed every second of it.
I don’t take it for granted how fortunate I am to be able to have shelter, clothes, warmth, dryness, food, love, fuel, a vocation, and a body and mind that still work reasonably well despite my increasing middle-aged-ness.
So I want to offer a huge thank you to all my supporters and readers this morning!
As for our weather, for the moment, we have some locally dense fog in southern VT, southwest NH and eastern Franklin County into parts of CMass.
As drier air works in from the west at the low levels, this fog will dissipate and we will be left with a mostly cloudy day with a few peeks of sunshine at times.
Highs will reach the low to mid 50s with a light west wind, and lows will drop into the upper 30s overnight as a weak cold front wafts through the region like a whisper.
For Saturday, a cooler day is in store with highs in the mid to upper 40s under partly sunny skies. A few isolated showers are possible around noon or early afternoon as another weak wave moves through. Lows will drop into the upper 20s to low 30s as it departs and pulls colder air into the region.
Sunday is the pick of the weekend with highs in the upper 40s under mostly sunny skies as high pressure nudges into the region and then sets up to our southeast, which will commence the southerly flow that will combine and strengthen early next week as our phasing southwestern U.S. cutoff low pressure system is captured by an incoming upper level trough into the Great Lakes.
After Sunday night lows in the low to mid 30s, we will cloud up on Monday, as a strong southerly flow will begin to siphon abundant moisture up from the south.
Our surface low will phase with our upper level low near the Allegheny Mountains of central PA and track northeast, staying to our northwest, but it will be tucked closer to WMass than past storms, I believe.
This will induce a strong low level jet to form, which will pass over us Monday afternoon and evening, and should also combine to produce heavy rain at times, strong southerly winds gusting over 50mph possibly, with some power outages possible, along with some street flooding possible.
Monday highs will be in the low to mid 50s and lows will only sit down into the mid 40s as southerly flow continues along with showers.
By Tuesday, a few remnants showers are possible, and while we should crest into the low 50s, temps should fall at night back into the 30s as a cold front works through the region, with cooler and fair conditions by mid to late week, with another storm possible by next Saturday.
Have a great day, and please check out my 2020 holiday apparel sale below, people who’ve gotten my hoodies, sweat shirts and long sleeves have all said how comfy they are, thanks so much…
