Good morning everybody, I had a great birthday yesterday and got to be with my best friend (socially-distanced and outside, of course), and had a lovely walk in Amherst as well. Thanks for the sweet birthday wishes!

For this weekend, we win. End of forecast.

Highs reach the upper 60s to mid 70s across the region both days, and we could even see some upper 70s south of the Pike in the valley locations for today!

It is still November, however, so lows will be chilly down around the low to mid 40s or so both nights.

We can thank a huge ridge over the eastern U.S. in the mid/upper levels that is fostering sinking, drying, warming air over the region, along with surface high pressure pushing east off of the DelMarVa Peninsula, which will keep a warming flow at the surface, combined with downsloping flow in the lower levels to warm us right up.

By Monday and Tuesday, more of the same! A late summer redux to be sure! More sun, more upper 60s to low 70s for highs, and lows in the low to mid 40s, with dry conditions.

By Wednesday, a surge of moisture will ride up the east coast ahead of an incoming cold front, and that should bring some substantial shower activity to the region by Wednesday evening and overnight. Highs should be in the 60s with lows in the 40s.

Then by late week, we will get into cooler Canadian air with highs mainly in the 50s and lows in the upper 30s to low 40s, with more rain possible by the start of the weekend when the remnants of Tropical Storm Eta may finally makes its way through the region.

Have a great day and enjoy this warmth while it’s here!
