MONDAY LOOKS SUNNY AND NICE BEFORE A MORE HUMID AND WARM AIR MASS ARRIVES FOR TUESDAY THROUGH MUCH OF NEXT WEEK WITH A RENEWED CHANCE FOR SCATTERED AFTERNOON SHOWERS, DOWNPOURS AND THUNDERSTORMS… SUMMER IS HERE… 7:00AM THURS]

Good morning everybody, we’ve got plenty of fog that developed overnight with calm wind, plenty of leftover moisture and temps that cooled to the dewpoint to produce pretty thick ground clouds in spots.

This will burn off with time today, and reveal a mostly sunny day that will be quite summery. Expect highs in the mid to upper 80s with dew points in the 60s, so it will be humid. A few isolated showers and thunderstorms will form by afternoon and move from north to south as our upper level low finally releases its grip on our weather.

For tonight, any showers/storms dissipate, but it will still be humid with lows in the mid to upper 60s under partly cloudy skies.

On Friday, a cold front descends from the north and northeast and will turn our flow out of the northeast, cooling temps back down to realize highs only in the mid to upper 70s.

This will also produce more clouds than sunshine, and the front will also focus scattered showers across the region by afternoon and evening, especially west of the I-91 corridor.

A few showers or thunderstorms will be possible late afternoon and evening, and then those will dissipate with the frontal passage to our south, landing our lows into the upper 50s overnight.

For the 4th on Saturday, not only will I be wishing I was at Tanglewood seeing my lifetime fave James Taylor (#sadface) but instead, I (along with you) will be appreciating a nice weather day, with lowered humidity, mostly sunny skies, and highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. A spot shower or storm is possible, especially in the western hilltowns or Berkshires, but we’re mostly dry. Lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s.

For Sunday, it’s a similar day, though a little warmer with highs in the low to mid 80s, and a bit more of a chance for some isolated showers in the afternoon, with lows at night dipping into the low 60s.

High pressure builds in for Monday producing a mostly sunny day with highs in the low to mid 80s.

After that, a series of disturbances along with a southwesterly flow will ensure we’re warm and humid, and we’ll likely see scattered showers and thunderstorms each afternoon for the Tuesday through Thursday period.

The drought will be mitigated by these conditions, but because of the nature of the hit or miss coverage of these comparatively tiny showers and storms, some folks will be dealing with drought conditions, others will be assisted by Mother Nature – it’ll be a mix, to be sure.

Have a great day!
