Western Mass Weather for June 5, 2020

SEVERAL ROUNDS OF ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWER AND STORM ACTIVITY THIS AFTERNOON, OVERNIGHT, AND TOMORROW BY AROUND NOON ARE ALL WE HAVE FOR RAIN CHANCES BETWEEN NOW AND LATE NEXT WEEK… ANY STORMS THAT FORM TOMORROW COULD BECOME STRONG TO POSSIBLY SEVERE WITH STRAIGHT LINE WIND DAMAGE AS THE MAIN THREAT…VERY HUMID THROUGH TOMORROW… DRIER, COOLER AND SUNNIER BY SUNDAY INTO THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK… THE SPRUMMER OF 2020 CONTINUES… (7:25AM FRI)

Good morning everybody, the sky is filled with gray pillows, pressed up against each other in a cottony, atmospheric snuggle fest.

I bet you’d have awesome dreams if you could climb up there and sleep for a night.

In other news, as Radar from M*A*S*H said, the humdidity sure is on the increase today and tomorrow, blech.

For today, highs will reach the upper 70s to low 80s, and there will be periods of drizzle, as well as isolated showers, and possibly a thunderstorm. Muggy.
The best chance for any pronounced activity will be during the afternoon.

As for tonight, another round of showers and storms is possible overnight as lows dip into the mid to upper 60s, so get those fans and ACs ready to rock.

By Saturday morning, a cold front will be approaching from the west draped off a system to our northwest.

This will track east and likely fire up one final line of showers and storms between late morning and mid afternoon on Saturday. Some storms may become strong with gusty winds and heavy rainfall.

Highs will reach the upper 70s to low 80s, but as dry air comes crashing in behind the front on northwest breezes, lows will plummet down to near 50 degrees by Sunday morning, which much lower humidity.

Sunday looks largely lovely with more sunshine, highs in the upper 60s to low 70s, and a spot afternoon shower possible. Lows will be chilly for early June, dipping down into the 45-50º range under mostly clear skies.

Monday and Tuesday look like two peas in sunny pod, with highs in the 70s Monday and in the low to mid 80s by Tuesday with lower humidity.

Wednesday looks like a copy of Tuesday, but by Thursday, some rainfall will be possible.

Here’s hopin’!
