Good morning everybody, the front is east of the region as of this writing, and westerly breezes are already ushering in drier air.
Dew points are in the 60s east of the I-91 corridor still, but in the 50s over the Berkshires and Taconics, and that air is most assuredly coming east.
For the rest of the day, drying will continue, as will clearing with time.
Highs will reach the mid 70s or so, and west to northwest breezes will gust to 20mph at times.
Lows tonight will drop into the upper 40s to low 50s under partly cloudy skies, with dew points plummeting into the 30s. Comfortable sleeping conditions are on the way. We could see a shower this evening and overnight as the cold pool moves overhead.
For Sunday, an upper level trough swings through the region, a faint reminder of the cold late-Spring pattern we endured in April as the month of May wafts gently to a close.
Expect mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 60s with northwest breezes gusting over 20mph at times.
It will be chilly tomorrow night under clear skies, with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s. Quite possibly, those will be the last low temp readings in the 30s for the WMass region until next Autumn.
A weak shortwave dives through the region Monday, but it will be partly to mostly sunny with an afternoon shower possible, and highs in the low to mid 60s, with lows in the low to mid 40s.
For Tuesday, partly sunny skies are expected as a warm front begins to approach the region. Highs will be either side of 70 degrees, and clouds will increase at night, with lows in the low to mid 50s and a few showers possible.
Scattered showers are expected to continue on Wednesday morning as a warm front slowly presses through the region, and highs should reach well into the 70s with lows in the 50s.
The late week period is a bit murky right now, but highs should be in the 70s, and approaching 80 degrees by week’s end, with some more showers possible Friday or Saturday, but Thursday looks warm and sunny at the moment.
We need the rain, and some of us want summer warmth. We’re getting neither at this point in time, the way things look to me, but as the weather always does, eventually it will switch up.
For now, enjoy the sunshine, and make hay while there’s hay to be made.
Have a great day…
