As warm air advects into our area with the help of high pressure off to our southeast, we could see a shower or two today, with more showers up to our north, as humidity increases in Western Mass.
It should be a partly sunny day on average with highs in the low 80s, but we’ll see some clouds, and a shower or two in spots. This all portends an even greater increase in humidity moisture from our south and west that will arrive tomorrow ahead of a cold frontal passage that will occur on Thursday.
As we know, when cold fronts approach in the Summertime, the clash of warm/hot/humid air to the south and east, and drier/cooler air to the north and west creates lift in the atmosphere, provides moisture in the air, and normally results in instability, paving the way for convection and subsequent thunderstorm development.
Humidity should decrease as we move into the weekend, with a slight reduction in temperature. Next week could hit 90 degrees. Have a great day!
