Good evening everybody, the only thing that’s changed for tomorrow is the onset of snow looks to be a little earlier than the original late morning/early afternoon thinking.

TUESDAY LIGHT STORM DISCUSSION
Now, it looks like more of a mid/late morning arrival, falling first in the Berkshires and southern VT and north of Rt. 2 in WMass by mid morning or so, then overspreading the region through late morning to near noon in areas to the east like portions of central MA.

We may even see some scattered light snow showers around sunrise and the early morning, but the snow shield arrives mid/late morning.

For tonight, lows will be predicated on exact track of high pressure southeast into Maine.

For now, it looks like lows dip into the upper teens and low 20s, which will a good-enough surface for moisture to float up and over and fall as snow for a few hours tomorrow.

By early to mid afternoon, enough milder air will be working into the region to turn any snow or mixed snow/rain to rain in northern CT.

Highs will reach the mid to upper 30s, and possibly 40 degrees in northern CT and east to southeast winds will gust 20-30mph at times.

With no high to the north, and those southeasterly winds, we should see warming progress rapidly northward through WMass and CMass up to the Rt. 2 corridor and turn any snow to rain, or a brief period of sleet and freezing rain before going to rain.

Some high terrain areas south of Rt. 2 may hold on to icing longer.

North of Rt. 2 snow will change to icing by early to mid afternoon, and then change to rain by late in the afternoon, with pockets of freezing rain possible in southern VT and southwest NH.

Any rain or icing will ship out of here between 8-10pm the way it looks now.

It looks like a coating to 2″ is possible north of the MassPike, with more like 1-3″ along and north of Rt. 2 in northern MA, SVT and SWNH.

By tomorrow night, an additional coating of snow is possible in the Taconics, Berkshires and SVT with colder air moving into the region, which could take advantage of remnant moisture and generate some upslope snow showers there.

Lows will fall into the upper 20s to low 30s with west winds gusting to 25mph as colder air moves in.

Watch out for black ice patches late.

Wednesday: Looking mostly sunny but blustery with highs low to mid 30s (upper 20s possible in SVT/SWNH) and northwest winds should gust to 35mph at times, so wind chills will be lower. Good day to bundle up.

Lows will drop into the teens with west winds continuing to gust to 20mph at times, so bundle up even more! :-)

Thursday sees the core of the late-week cold arrive with highs in the 20s under mostly sunny skies and lows in the single digits.

Friday is cold and sunny as well with highs in the upper 20s and lows in the teens under clear skies.

We milden up this weekend, with temps above freezing, and dry weather expected.

Have a great night, and if you value my work and would like to help ensure it continues, check out my 2020 Membership offerings below, thank you!
