SUMMARY:
–Good morning everybody, aside from a few morning showers today, we should be able to enjoy a drier, more Autumnal 3 days through the weekend before more rain moves in next week
–For today, isolated morning showers give way to partly sunny skies and light northerly and easterly winds
–For tonight, even more dry air spills into the region, as a high to our north pushes the cold front that passed through yesterday further offshore
–The weekend looks freaking amazing, especially for a guy like me who can’t stand heat and humidity. Can you relate?
–Partly sunny skies on both days, with highs upper 60s to low 70s Saturday and firmly in the 60s on Sunday
–Lows will likely drop into the mid to upper 40s Saturday night and Sunday night as bone dry air settles over the region!
–Sadly, it will not last, though Monday could be end up being a fourth and final day for low dewpoints, though they should be crawling into the low 60s or so by then
–The rainy remnants of Hurricane Gordon will get trapped in the flow, and track over New England by Monday afternoon into Wednesday morning
–Expect more humid conditions, and widespread showers and downpours, especially on Tuesday and Tuesday night
–Highs will warm from the 60s on Monday to the low 80s by Tuesday through Thursday with increased humidity, and dewpoints in the upper 60s to low 70s
–We have to continue to monitor and be aware of Hurricane Florence
–Many models are showing that this system will miss its connection to get kicked out to sea east of Bermuda
–If that comes to pass, then we have to watch how the storm interacts with a developing high pressure ridge over the northeast
–It’s possible Florence will be forced to continue a westward track to the south of the ridge, which could send it toward the east coast, Mid-Atlantic and possibly even New England
–Furthermore, this system is going to encounter more favorable conditions for it to strengthen, with widespread low wind shear, and very warm sea surface temperatures south of New England to fuel its development
–You can see that sea surface temps are substantially warmer than average in the area south and east of New England over which Florence will be tracking
–This one bears watching folks. Its impact would be by next Friday in New England, if it comes to pass
–Obviously, tropical tracks are highly variable, and this storm may amount to nothing, which hopefully is the case, but it’s firmly on my radar now
–I will update you as we approach the period for potential impact

Have a great day, and enjoy the incoming Autumnal-ness!
