Good morning everybody, well that was a busy, dynamic and hairy morning. We’ve got scattered power outages as a result, and some street flooding may have formed as well.
The heaviest remnant rains with the cold front are now into northeast CT and central MA up into southwest NH at the 7am hour where temps are near 70 and dewpoints well into the 60s. Howvever, humidity is already lowering with temps in the 50s to our west, so drier air is on the march eastward.
The damaging wind threat is over for the WMass region, with rain quitting by mid morning and highs reaching up and into the mid to upper 60s, with some low 70s possible in the warmest spots. West winds will gust 20-30mph, and we should see some partly sunny skies later this afternoon after a cloudy start.
For tonight, lows will dip down into the upper 40s to low 50s as winds slacken and become light to calm.
For Thursday, a gorgeous day is on tap with mostly sunny skies expected and highs in the 65-70º range. Lows will be in the 40s under clear skies early, but with clouds gathering after midnight ahead of the next storm system.
For Friday, another storm rounds the southern base of the eastern North American trough and develops surface low pressure near the eastern Ohio Valley into the Mid-Atlantic region, which will track northeast into New England, bringing more rainfall to the region. Highs will be in the upper 50s to low 60s, and it will feel kind of raw out there. Lows will drop into the low 40s after early evening showers abate.
The weekend looks Autumnal-ly gorgeous under mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s, and lows near 40º.
By early next week, another coastal rainstorm is possible, as our pattern shift continues to carve itself out over the region. Highs will remain cool throughout next week, with highs generally in the 60s and lows in the 40s, with subtle differences each day, which I’ll iron out as we get closer.
Have a great day, and please post your reports below from this morning’s dynamic frontal passage.
