AUTUMNAL PATTERN CHANGE COMING ON WITH VIM AND VIGOR NOW… LATE SUMMER CONDITIONS SURGE TODAY AND AGAIN TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY… THEN A PATTERN CHANGE TO DEEPER AUTUMN ARRIVES IN EARLY OCTOBER… YOU CAN TAKE YOUR AIR CONDITIONERS OUT NEXT THURSDAY… SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TONIGHT WITH A COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE, BUT EXPECT A NICE WEEKEND OVERALL…. #AndSoItBegins (7:55am Saturday)
Good morning everybody, enjoy the warmer temps today and again on Tuesday and Wednesday, because Autumnal conditions will be overspreading the region by late next week. Sure, there may be a couple of warmer reprisals to come, but the seasons are really flexing now. Hurricane Lorenzo’s track will be a trigger to help to drive cooler Canadian air into the States. This air can be seen in the substantial Montana snowstorm in process.
It’s coming.
We’re New Englanders. We can handle it. Soon, the sound of wood saws and leaves delicately scraping the ground and pavement will be our sound scape.
SUMMARY THROUGH LATE NEXT WEEK
–For today, we’ve got some patchy fog in spots this morning, and temps are cool, mainly in the 40s to low 50s
–We’ll enjoy a mostly sunny first half of today, although some clouds are expected
–This is due to a warm front pushing into the region briefly, allowing dew point temps to rise into the low to mid 60s
–This should also allow southwest wind gusts to blow over 20mph, aided and abetted by departing high pressure (currently south of Martha’s Vineyard)
–Highs today will reach the 75-80 degree range
–Clouds will build later this afternoon as a cold front approaches the region
–Showers and a few downpours could arrive for parts of the Berkshires, SWVT and western CT as early as 6pm, but I think the bulk holds off until 8pm-2am
–Some thunderstorms are possible, especially south of the MassPike and small hail can’t be ruled out
–Lows will drop into the upper 40s to mid 50s
–For Sunday, high pressure builds in from the northwest and will produce a cooler, drier mostly sunny day
–Highs will only reach the mid 60s to low 70s and lows will plummet into the upper 30s to low 40s
–Monday is another “high-pressure” day with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 60s and lows in the upper 40s to low 50s with an isolated shower possible at night
–Tuesday and Wednesday will see a warm front pass through the region, and humidity will come up late on Tuesday and last into Wednesday for one more muggy surge
–Highs should be well into the 70s Tuesday, and upper 70s to low 80s on Wednesday
–Showers arrive Wednesday ahead of what appears to be the #GatewayToAutumn
–Much cooler air will invade the region late next week into the following weekend, the way it looks now, and I would not be surprised if we end up with a Hard Freeze within 7-10 days from now
–GARDERNERS/FARMERS: you have been put on notice. Temps could moderate, but this bears watching
Have a great day!
