Western Mass Weather for September 11, 2020

[AUTUMN WEATHER ARRIVES ON NORTHERLY BREEZES, AND REINFORCING SHOTS OF COOLER, DRIER FEELS-LIKE-FALL WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL BE LAPPING UP ON THE SHORES OF THE WMASS REGION OVER THE NEXT 7-10 DAYS WITH A COUPLE OF SHOWER CHANCES SUNDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY MONDAY, AND AGAIN LATE NEXT WEEK… OTHERWISE, IT’S FAIR, COOL, DRY WEATHER AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE… 7:00AM FRIDAY]

Good morning everybody, yesterday surely provided a number of us with a good soaking, while some got very little rainfall.

We surely needed the rain, and when I look to Sunday night into Monday, I don’t see a repeat of yesterday, as our late-weekend frontal boundary will be washing out and weakening on approach to our region.

Temps are still in the 60s, and dewpoints are in the upper 50s to mid 60s, so it’s still humid out there, but that is going to be changing as the day wears on. We’ll have periods of sunny breaks and clouds, which will give way to mostly sunny skies by afternoon.

We’ll bust out the double-dashes for the rest of this short-but-super-sweet and simple weather outlook.

NON-SUMMAH-RY SUMMARY
–Humidity is on the wane today, as northerly breezes usher in much drier air as the day wears on
–A general partly sunny mixed sky this morning gives way to mostly sunny skies this afternoon
–Highs reach the upper 60s to low 70s with dewpoints crashing down into the 40s by this evening, setting up a super crisp and cool night
–Lows will plummet into the low to mid 40s overnight with maximized radiational cooling under clear skies, so be sure to close those windows after leaving them open during the day to get some fresh air into your house or apartment… then bundle up tonight!
–Saturday looks gorgeous, sunny with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s with a light wind. Lows dip down to near 50º as clouds start to filter in late
–After some early morning fog patches, Sunday could see a few sunny breaks or periods during the first half of the day, but clouds will be increasing, certainly by afternoon
–High will reach the low to mid 70s, and overcast skies will develop by late afternoon or early evening with a few showers possible
–Humidity comes up a bit Sunday evening and overnight with lows bottoming out near 60º with scattered showers overnight, that may last into Monday morning
–Highs on Monday will rise into the low to mid 70s under increasingly sunny skies as yet another in an incoming series of high pressure systems out of Canada reinforces the drier, more Autumnal feel that will characterize next week
–Lows Monday night are back down into the mid 40s
–Tuesday will be the chilliest day we’ve seen in a while, with highs firmly in the 60s, and possibly only low 60s in areas like southern VT and the northern Berkshires! But, it will be sunny, so there’s that.
–And wouldn’t you know it, MORE SUNSHINE for Wednesday with highs 65-70, and even more sunshine Thursday with warmer highs into the low to mid 70s
–Some showers are possible by Friday with another cold frontal passage, then it looks like more Autumnal weather after that

Summer is trying to exit stage right, but we’re only entering the middle of September, so I’m not ready to call it off just yet, though it’s kind of the ropes for the moment.

Have a great day and enjoy the fresh, new air mass, I baked it just for you!!
