Good morning everybody, the rain train cometh for sure. It will be on the lighter side and more showery this morning, but will become heavier at times by this afternoon and into the first part of the evening.
It should be out of here between 8-10pm, if all goes according to expectation.
CURRENT STORM SETUP
Low pressure tracked through westernmost Lake Erie and headed through eastern Lake Huron in the Great Lakes.
Secondary low pressure has formed near southern PA and will track east-northeast through southern New England, bringing with it a strong low level jet streak and diverging winds aloft, allowing for heavy rain at times.
Highs will be in the upper 40s to low 50s, with east or southeast winds gusting 20-30mph at times.
The combination of heavy rain and some wind will bring more leaves down on to wet roads, making them slick in spots, so be on the alert for those conditions.
In addition, where heavier rain accumulates quickly, poor drainage may be seen with some localized street flooding, especially south of the Pike where the heaviest rain should fall.
I think about .75-2″ of rain is a good bet for most of us.
Lows tonight will be in the mid 40s with patchy fog possible and rain quitting by about 10pm.
Monday through Wednesday looks like we have easterly, onshore flow thanks to high pressure meandering about the Canadian Maritimes with clockwise flow around it, creating easterly wind.
This will create periods of clouds, drizzle and some isolated light shower activity, especially east of I-91 (in terms of showers).
Highs will be in the upper 50s to low 60s, though Wednesday could see a bump into the mid 60s, with lows in the 40s.
By late Thursday into Friday, yet another inside runner storm system with a secondary low developing over southern New England should bring more substantial rain to the region.
The weekend looks nicer at this point, with seasonable temps, and the potential for fair weather extending into early next week.
Have a great day inside if you can, I am off to get soup ingredients for 30-clove garlic chicken soup, time to boost the immune system.
