Good morning everybody, I always find it interesting to remember that even though I may get up and make coffee or tea in the morning in the kitchen, that kitchen’s exact coordinates in the Cosmos are different every, single, time I step into it, being millions and millions of miles from where it was the morning before.

We walk down the same hallways or within the same rooms, we drive down the same streets, and while they look the same, and are the same, they are most assuredly NOT in the same place in the Cosmos as they were the last time we traversed them given that out Milky Way Galaxy is hurtling through the Universe at 515,000mph.

HERE’S DAVE WITH THE WEATHER
We’ve got moisture streaming in from the south ahead of an incoming cold front that will be removed enough from its parent low pressure system’s dynamics that it should be mostly moisture-starved as it crosses the region today, though a shower or two are possible by early to mid afternoon from its passage.

Prior to that, southerly flow and light wind has allowed for dewpoints well into the 50s and some patchy fog formation this morning. Some drizzle patches or even a light shower can’t be ruled out early, before these minor hydrometeorological nuisances are absorbed back into the ethers from whence they came, leaving us with mostly cloudy skies until the afternoon.

Highs today may only sit around the 60º in the high terrain, but in the CT River Valley and points south and east, we should get more into the 65-70º range before the cooler incoming air knocks those temps down into the 50s by sunset, along with providing some northwest winds gusts over 20mph.

Sunshine will break out sometime in the afternoon, and all I can tell you is that any echoes of late summer and early Autumn are going to be fleeting rapidly as the combo of sunshine and last bit of warmth gives way to the lowering sun angle, northwest breezes and lowering air and dewpoint temps.

In other words, get outside this afternoon and soak it up, warm weather aficionados.

By tonight, temps drop like a rock as winds slacken, skies clear completely, and low humidity seeps through the region, with lows hitting the freezing mark for many of us by tomorrow morning, reaching the 30-35º range. Patchy frost is expected.

For Sunday, totally different day and air mass. Mostly sunny, yes, but cold, with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s from high terrain to low. Totally beautiful, but you’ll need to bundle a bit.

Lows Sunday night will dip into the mid to upper 30s with clouds building into the region.

Monday through Tuesday night looks showery at times, with a couple of legit rain shields possible (meaning, periods of stratiform rainfall).

We can thank a frontal boundary and a couple of low pressure waves that will traverse it over our region for the anticipated wet weather.

Highs Monday will be in the low 50s with lows in the low to mid 40s, and Tuesday highs will be either side of 50º with lows in the mid to upper 30s for a raw night of showery conditions.

By Wednesday and Thursday we should at least bust into some partly sunny conditions with highs in the 50s and lows near 50º, but by Friday more showers are possible, and highs may only be in the 40s!

Like I said, get out and enjoy the short window of fleeting warm weather today, because it’s going away for the foreseeable future.

Hope you have a great day, and please look for my 2021 Calendar Sale launch tomorrow, I am very excited about this year’s calendar, more so than ever, given the fabulous fan photos that are in it this year, along with the cool educational pieces about hurricanes and their formation, and the large-scale patterns called teleconnections that you’ll learn about during each and every month.

They make useful, universal gifts and will serve as excellent date keepers for yourself as well!

Enjoy the day… Dave
