Good morning everybody, yesterday was a true delight! Beautifully warm and breezy enough to keep the leaves falling against that blue sky backdrop, really pretty day.

Today? Well, not so much given that more clouds will be around thanks to a back door cold front out of Maine and Gulf of Maine waters.

After any morning mist or fog patches dries up by 9-10am, a mostly cloudy day will be revealed, with highs in the mid 60s.

Some sunshine may try to peek through the clouds the further east you go, but mostly cloudy skies are expected.

Skies should remain mostly cloudy tonight as a warm front briefly works north of the region, which will hold lows in the low to mid 50s.

On Saturday, some of us may hit 70º, but it’s going to come down to how fast the cold front moves through in the afternoon, and how much in the way of sunny breaks we can get into the region.

As of now, highs will likely reach the low to mid 60s with some upper 60s south of the Pike, but hopefully we’ll warm a bit more than that before the winds veer from the southwest to the northwest and gust up to 25mph later Saturday into the overnight period, which will bring colder and drier air into western Mass and surrounding counties/states.

Lows Saturday night will be cold, dropping into the low to mid 30s by early Sunday morning.

Our Sunday will be a true late October day, with highs only in the low 50s despite abundant sunshine. Clouds will increase at night with lows hanging in the upper 30s.

A series of frontal boundaries will wiggle around the region Monday through Wednesday, and keep intermittent periods of showers and rainfall in the forecast during that period.

Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s with lows in the low to mid 40s, and then by Thursday, some of us may not even break the 50º mark for highs!

Autumn takes a larger step towards southern New England by next week, and we get some more needed rainfall through mid-week.

Have a great day!
